Esenciální arteriální hypertenze je velmi prevalentní onemocnění, v jehož léčbě často využíváme látky potlačující aktivitu systému RAAS, tj. sartany či inhibitory ACE. Uplatňují se jednak v monoterapii, jednak, a to stále častěji, ve fixních kombinacích s látkami z jiných lékových skupin. Tento krátký text poukazuje na stávající terapeutický potenciál valsartanu v monoterapii či v kombinaci s hydrochlorothiazidem a/nebo s amlodipinem v klinických studiích VICTORY a VICTORY II.
Essential arterial hypertension is a very prevalent disease in the treatment of which we often use substances that suppress the activity of the RAAS system, i.e., sartans or ACE inhibitors. They are used either as a monotherapy or increasingly in fixed combinations with substances from various groups of drugs. This short text points to the current therapeutic potential of valsartan in monotherapy or in combination with hydrochlorothiazide and/or amlodipine in the VICTORY and VICTORY II clinical trials.
