Piercing – odvozeno z anglického slova „pierce“ neboli „propíchnout“ – je propíchnutí určité části těla (kůže) a vložení šperku. Piercing má kořeny už daleko v minulosti. Prastaří indiáni jej používali jako ozdobu těl při rituálech a obětováních. Používali přitom bambus a podobný přírodní materiál. Dnes se používá chirurgická ocel, titan a zlato. Chirurgická ocel a titan se používají nejčastěji, protože se s nimi tělo dobře snáší.
