V roku 2004 bolo na Slovensku vykonaných 45 bariatrických operácií. V tom istom roku boli vykonané aj 3 iné laparoskopické operácie žalúdka, a to parciálne a wedge resekcie pre benígne tumory. V tomto roku bolo vykonaných aj 70 sutúr perforovaného ulkusu gastroduodéna. V roku 2007 bolo na Slovensku vykonaných spolu 875 operácií na žalúdku a duodéne (bez sutúry perf. vredu). Z nich bolo 40 vykonaných laparoskopicky, čo je 4,6 %. Celkovo sme doteraz na chirurgickom oddelení v Žiline vykonali 25 laparoskopických resekcií žalúdka. Pravá operácia bola v roku 2006 a bola to wedge resekcia pre benígny tumor žalúdka (GIST). Potom pribudli BI resekcie pre ulkusové ochorenie a neskôr i subtotálne a totálne resekcie s lymfadenektómiou. Zo skupiny karcinómu žalúdka bola resekcia vykonaná len u 13 pacientov, čo predstavuje len 51,4 %. Od roku 2008 vykonávame sleeve gastrektómie pre morbídnu obezitu. V poslednom období však podiel laparoskopie pri ochoreniach gastroduodéna (vrátane perforovaného ulkusu) stúpol na 50 %, s perforovanými ulkusmi dokonca nad 70 %. Laparoskopická sutúra perforovaného peptického vredu sa na našom oddelení vykonáva od roku 1999. Odvtedy bolo vykonaných celkom 60 týchto operácií s jednou konverziou a dvoma reoperáciami, jednou laparoskopickou a jednou klasickou. Veľmi prínosná je laparoskopia pri difúznej peritonitíde a nejasnom origu perforácie. Laparoskopia ako metóda prístupu k operáciám gastroduodéna na Slovensku zaznamenala za posledné obdobie vzostup.
In 2004, forty-five bariatric surgeries were performed in Slovakia. Three other laparoscopic gastric surgeries were done in the same year, namely partial wedge resections for benign tumours. Also performed were 70 suture repairs of perforated gastroduodenal ulcers in that year. In 2007, a total of 875 operations on the stomach and duodenum (without suturing of perforated ulcer) were performed in Slovakia. Out of these, 40 were done laparoscopically, which constitutes 4.6 %. To date, a total of 25 laparoscopic gastric resections have been performed at the Surgical Department in Žilina. The first operation was done in 2006 and it was a wedge resection of a benign gastric tumour (GIST). Subsequently, BI resections for ulcer disease were included as well as subtotal and total resections with lymphadenectomy. Resection for gastric carcinoma was only performed in 13 patients, which represents only 51.4 %. Since 2008, sleeve gastrectomies for morbid obesity have been carried out. Recently, the proportion of laparoscopic surgeries for gastroduodenal disease (including perforated ulcer) has increased to 50 %, with surgeries for perforated ulcer even exceeding 70 %. Laparoscopic suturing of perforated peptic ulcer has been performed at our department since 1999. Since then, a total of 60 operations have been carried out including one conversion and two reoperations, one using laparoscopic and the other conventional approach. Laparoscopic surgery in the case of diffuse peritonitis and an obscure origin of the perforation is of major benefit. Recently, laparoscopic approach has been increasingly used in gastroduodenal operations in Slovakia.
