Popsán případ jedenáctileté dívky s diabetes mellitus 1. typu, u které byla hned při zjištění diabetu nalezena bilaterální zadní subkapsulární katarakta, která i přes úpravu kompenzace diabetu v průběhu 4,5 měsíců progredovala v pokročilou intumescentní kataraktu obou očí, se ztrátou visu na hranici slepoty. Fakoemulzifikace s implantací umělé nitrooční čočky, provedená nejprve na pravém oku a následně v odstupu dvou týdnů na levém oku, proběhla bez komplikací, ale 3 měsíce po operaci došlo k rozvoji sekundární katarakty a pro fibrózu zadního pouzdra čočky je plánováno ošetření laserem.
A case report of an 11 years old girl with type 1 diabetes mellitus is described, in whom immediately after the diagnosis of diabetes the bilateral posterior subcapsular cataract was diagnosed, which progressed in the advanced intumescent cataract of both eyes with the visual loss on the verge of blindness during 4.5 months despite a compensation of the diabetes. A fakoemulsification with an implantation of an artificial intraocular lens performed firstly on the right eye and subsequently, after two weeks, on the left eye passed without complications, but 3 months after the surgerya secondary cataract developed and because of the fibrosis of the posterior lenticular capsule a laser treatment is planned.
