Background: Coordinated rehabilitation plays a crucial role in helping patients with acquired brain injury (ABI) to return to active lives. Cooperation between occupational therapists (OTs) and social workers (SWs) is very important during the hospital-to-home transition. Aim: The primary objective of the project was to map the coordinated rehabilitation of individuals after ABI within their social environment, aiming to help patients reclaim their lives despite the limitations of ABI. The purpose of this article is to identify and describe the impact of medical-social rehabilitation relative to interprofessional cooperation between OTs and SWs in the patient's home environment. The focus is on identifying the critical elements needed to maximize specialist collaboration. Methods: The research was designed as an experimental qualitative study with auxiliary quantitative indicators in 17 case studies. The study included semi-structured interviews. In addition, the FIM system® and WHODAS 2.0 were used to objectify patient status monitored over time in individual cases. Results: Five critical elements of cooperation were identified: (1) Quality of life, (2) Self-sufficiency, (3) Evaluation of the home, physical, and social environment, (4) Indication of aids, barrier-free modifications, and their financing, (5) Connection of health and social areas. After coordinated intervention, patients reported a gradual increase in their quality of life and self-sufficiency. The next continuity of rehabilitation services is very desirable, at least for maintaining the effect. Conclusion: Specialist cooperation prevents patients from getting lost in the complicated systems of health and social services. It maximizes access to and effectiveness of these services, including the availability of financial aid and psychological support.

Purpose: To comprehensively analyze the work duties of students from the Faculty of Social Studies at the University of Ostrava during the COVID-19 pandemic, focusing on the perspectives and discourses of those involved in managing the crisis. Methods: Interpretive paradigm, qualitative strategies, situational analysis, questionnaire survey, semi-structured interview. Results: The result is a presentation of the discourses of different actors involved in the students' work duties. The students felt dissatisfaction with their work duty and valued the experience gained. The public administration authorities perceived inconsistency in the practices between the political subdivisions and appreciated the students' motivation to help. Social service organisations pointed out an absence of a crisis management methodology. Conclusion: Social work educators should prepare students for mandatory work duties during crises or emergencies, such as at that time ongoing pandemic. They should also offer compulsory elective courses that introduce students to nursing activities needed during work duties, such as general care, meal preparation, and communication with clients. Recommendations for social service organisations and public administration should focus on crisis management and mentoring.

Objectives: This review answers the following questions: (1) What is the potential role of social work in prevention, intervention, and postvention in dealing with suicide? (2) What factors limit social work involvement? Methods: A sample of 84 peer-reviewed articles selected via PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar were analysed using content analysis. Findings: Results indicate that the role of social work in suicide prevention, intervention and postvention has been primarily established as a clinical or mental health social worker's task. However, generalist social workers can also effectively use their training in dealing with suicide at individual, family, organisational, and community levels. The study revealed that social work intervention in suicide prevention is reduced by several factors, including limited social work research interests in suicide, lack of education and training of social workers in dealing with people with suicidal ideation, and professional anxiety caused by clients' suicides. Conclusion: Incorporating suicide content into social work education, increasing social workers' training, and utilising generalist social workers' potential are required to increase social work contribution.
