It is argued that if we compute self-other agreement on some personality traits then we possess no or very little information about the individuals who are the targets of this judgment. This idea is largely based on two separate ways of computing self-other agreement: trait agreement (rT ) and profile agreement (rP ), which are typically associated with two different trait-centered and person-centered approaches in personality research. Personality traits of 4115 targets from Czech, Belgian, Estonian, and German samples were rated by themselves and knowledgeable informants. We demonstrate that trait agreement can be partialled into individual contributions so that it is possible to show how much each individual pair of judges contributes to agreement on a particular trait. Similarly, it is possible to decompose agreement between two personality profiles into the individual contributions of traits from which these profiles are assembled. If normativeness is separated from distinctiveness of personality scores and individual profiles are ipsatized, then mean profile agreement rP becomes identical to mean trait agreement r T . The views that trait-by-trait analysis does not provide information regarding accuracy level of a particular pair of judges and profile analysis does not permit assessment of the relative contributions of traits to overall accuracy are not supported.

Ochrophyta is a vast and morphologically diverse group of algae with complex plastids, including familiar taxa with fundamental ecological importance (diatoms or kelp) and a wealth of lesser-known and obscure organisms. The sheer diversity of ochrophytes poses a challenge for reconstructing their phylogeny, with major gaps in sampling and an unsettled placement of particular taxa yet to be tackled. We sequenced transcriptomes from 25 strategically selected representatives and used these data to build the most taxonomically comprehensive ochrophyte-centered phylogenomic supermatrix to date. We employed a combination of approaches to reconstruct and critically evaluate the relationships among ochrophytes. While generally congruent with previous analyses, the updated ochrophyte phylogenomic tree resolved the position of several taxa with previously uncertain placement and supported a redefinition of the classes Picophagea and Synchromophyceae. Our results indicated that the heterotrophic, plastid-lacking heliozoan Actinophrys sol is not a sister lineage of ochrophytes, as proposed recently, but rather phylogenetically nested among them, implying that it lacks a plastid due to loss. In addition, we found the heterotrophic ochrophyte Picophagus flagellatus to lack all hallmark plastid genes yet to exhibit mitochondrial proteins that seem to be genetic footprints of a lost plastid organelle. We thus document, for the first time, plastid loss in two separate ochrophyte lineages. Furthermore, by exploring eDNA data, we enrich the ochrophyte phylogenetic tree by identifying five novel uncultured class-level lineages. Altogether, our study provides a new framework for reconstructing trait evolution in ochrophytes and demonstrates that plastid loss is more common than previously thought.

The characterization of the largest worldwide representative data set of apricot (Prunus armeniaca L.) germplasm was performed using molecular markers. Genetic diversity and structure of the cultivated apricot genetic resources were analyzed to decipher the history of diffusion of this species around the world. A common set of 25 microsatellite markers was used for genotyping a total of 890 apricot accessions in different collections from the center of origin to the more recent regions of apricot culture. Using a Bayesian model-based clustering approach, the apricot genotypes can be structured into five different genetic clusters (FST = 0.174), correlated with the geographical regions of origin of the accessions. Accessions from China and Central Asia were clustered together and exhibited the highest levels of diversity, confirming an origin in this region. A loss of genetic diversity was observed from the center of origin to both western and eastern zones of recent apricot culture. Altogether, our results revealed that apricot spread from China and Central Asia, defined as the center of origin, following three major diffusion routes with a decreasing gradient of genetic variation in each geographical group. The identification of specific alleles outside the center of origin confirmed the existence of different secondary apricot diversification centers. The present work provides more understanding of the worldwide history of apricot species diffusion as well as the field of conservation of the available genetic resources. Data have been used to define an apricot core collection based on molecular marker diversity which will be useful for further identification of genomic regions associated with commercially important horticultural traits through genome-wide association studies to sustain apricot breeding programs.

The aim of the investigation was to verify in patients repeatedly failing the reduction the existence of personality traits which can increase an individual predisposition for development and relapse of obesity. In 1995, 65 patients of the Geronto-Metabolic Clinic in Hradec Králové (average age 41.23 +/- 10.9 years, BMI 32.4 +/- 1.2 kg/m2) were systematically examined. A psychological examination (Freiburg's personality questionnaire SUPOS 7, SCL 90, KSAT) was added to standard somatic examination. The results of this investigation demonstrate the presence of psychosocial factors in combination with specific configuration of personal features that are reflected in the quality of emotional feelings, social interactions and in the autoplastic picture of the disease (lower sociability, depression, higher score of somatic anxiety, impulsivity, muscle tension, increased sensitivity to body image). Knowledge of the patients personal features enables a more complex view of the disease. The stimulation of self-healing abilities of the patient and forming of her affinities based on partnership are the most important. For these reasons, we include person centered approach (P.C.A.) in classical cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) and both these therapies are part of the group therapy.

ConspectusOne of the constant challenges of synthetic chemistry is the molecular design and synthesis of nonionic, metal-free superbases as chemically stable neutral organic compounds of moderate molecular weight, intrinsically high thermodynamic basicity, adaptable kinetic basicity, and weak or tunable nucleophilicity at their nitrogen, phosphorus, or carbon basicity centers. Such superbases can catalyze numerous reactions, ranging from C-C bond formation to cycloadditions and polymerization, to name just a few. Additional benefits of organic superbases, as opposed to their inorganic counterparts, are their solubility in organic reaction media, mild reaction conditions, and higher selectivity. Approaching such superbasic compounds remains a continuous challenge. However, recent advances in synthetic methodology and theoretical understanding have resulted in new design principles and synthetic strategies toward superbases. Our computational contributions have demonstrated that the gas-phase basicity region of 350 kcal mol-1 and even beyond is easily reachable by organosuperbases. However, despite record-high basicities, the physical limitations of many of these compounds become quickly evident. The typically large molecular weight of these molecules and their sensitivity to ordinary reaction conditions prevent them from being practical, even though their preparation is often not too difficult. Thus, obviously structural limitations with respect to molecular weight and structural complexity must be imposed on the design of new synthetically useful organic superbases, but strategies for increasing their basicity remain important.The contemporary design of novel organic superbases is illustrated by phosphazenyl phosphanes displaying gas-phase basicities (GB) above 300 kcal mol-1 but having molecular weights well below 1000 g·mol-1. This approach is based on a reconsideration of phosphorus(III) compounds, which goes along with increasing their stability in solution. Another example is the preparation of carbodiphosphoranes incorporating pyrrolidine, tetramethylguanidine, or hexamethylphosphazene as a substituent. With gas-phase proton affinities of up to 300 kcal mol-1, they are among the top nonionic carbon bases on the basicity scale. Remarkably, the high basicity of these compounds is achieved at molecular weights of around 600 g·mol-1. Another approach to achieving high basicity through the cooperative effect of multiple intramolecular hydrogen bonding, which increases the stabilization of conjugate acids, has recently been confirmed.This Account focuses on our efforts to produce superbasic molecules that embody many desirable traits, but other groups' approaches will also be discussed. We reveal the crucial structural features of superbases and place them on known basicity scales. We discuss the emerging potential and current limits of their application and give a general outlook into the future.

OBJECTIVE: To compare persons with epilepsy (PWE) to those with psychogenic non-epileptic seizures (PNES) on measures of depression, anxiety, and alexithymia subscales (i.e., difficulty identifying emotions, difficulty describing emotions, and external-oriented thinking). MATERIAL AND METHODS: In this retrospective study, 235 epilepsy patients and 90 patients with PNES were evaluated between 2012 and 2020 at the Northeast Regional Epilepsy Group. These patients had completed the Toronto Alexithymia Scale (TAS-20), The Center for Epidemiologic Studies - Depression Scale (CES-D) and The State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI). Background information was collected regarding work/student/disability status at the time of the evaluation history of psychiatric diagnosis; psychological trauma; and involvement in psychotherapy either at the time of the evaluation or prior. RESULTS: Significant differences between PWEs and those with PNES were found not only in historical data (e.g., Psychiatric History, History of Trauma, and History of Therapy) (p < .001) but also on measures of Depression (p = .002) and Anxiety (p < .001). ANOVA analysis also revealed significant differences in the distribution of the TAS-Total score, TAS-Describing emotions, and TAS-Identifying emotions. Using logistic regression (stepwise model) the optimal set of predictors for a differential diagnosis of epilepsy and PNES was combination of TAS-Identifying emotions score, history of psychological trauma, and history of therapy. The accuracy of the prediction was determined to be 80.2 %. CONCLUSIONS: Although higher alexithymia rates are present in PNES and PWEs, clinicians may find a combination of TAS-Identifying Emotion score, history of trauma, and history of psychotherapy useful in supporting a differential diagnosis. Also, a subgroup may exist among those with PNES with high levels of alexithymia, depression, and anxiety that may require a different treatment approach focused on addressing difficulties in identifying and describing their emotions and their other symptomatology.
