Autor navazuje na článek Deprese seniorů uveřejněný v Čes Ger Rev 2005; 3(2). Věnuje se stručně psychoterapii deprese, podstatná část se týká farmakoterapie deprese geriatrických pacientů. V potaz jsou vzaty specihcké aspekty podání antidepresiv pacientům vyššího věku, stejně tak rizika komorbidity a lékových interakcí. Probrána je léčba nejen moderními antidepresivy, ale uvedena jsou i další farmaka ostatní biologické možnosti léčby deprese seniorů. Vysvědeny jsou výhody i případná rizika.

The author follows the article Depression in seniors published in the Czech geriatric revue 2005; 3(2). He briefly describes psychotherapy of depression, the main part of the article deals with pharmacotherapy of depression in geriatric patients. Specific aspects of dispensing antidepressants to older patient and risks of co-morbidity and drug interactions are mainly regarded. Treatment with modern anUdepressants is described and also other pharmaceuticals and biological possibilities of depression treatment in seniors are mentioned. Eventual risks and advantages are explained.
