Uvedená kazuistika 73letého muže s diabetem mellitus 2. typu popisuje případ, kdy v důsledku hypoglykemie při léčbě sulfonylureou a dalšími perorálními antidiabetiky (PAD) pacient způsobil autonehodu. U nemocného s uspokojivě kompenzovaným diabetem 2. typu došlo k vynechání jídla během dne při cestování a následně k hypoglykemii s neblahými následky.

The presented case report of a 73 years old patient with the type 2 diabetes mellitus describes the situation when the patient caused a car accident due to hypoglycemia during the treatment with sulphonylurea and other oral antibiabetic agents. The patient with so far adequately controlled type 2 diabetes mellitus omitted food during traveling and that resulted in hypoglycemia with harmful consequences.
