Alergická kontaktní dermatitida a iritační kontaktní dermatitida, souhrnně označované jako kontaktní dermatitidy, jsou jedny z nejběžnějších diagnóz v dermatologických ambulancích. Jedná se o onemocnění vyvolaná vnějšími látkami, které se dostávají do kontaktu s kůží a odlišným mechanismem zde způsobují neinfekční záněty kůže. Přesto může být jejich klinický obraz velmi podobný a nerozeznatelný. Z hlediska profesionality jsou kontaktní dermatitidy nejčastějšími kožními chorobami z povolání. Úloha dermatologa je spojena nejen s odpovědností v diagnostice a léčbě onemocnění, ale i v průkazu styku se škodlivinou. Důsledná, někdy až detektivní práce při odběru anamnézy, sledování průběhu onemocnění a epikutánní testy jsou proto nedílnou součástí každého šetření těchto nemocí.

These are diseases caused by external substances that come into contact with the skin and, by a different mechanism, cause non-infectious inflammation of the skin. Nevertheless, their clinical picture is very similar and indistinguishable. In terms of professionalism, contact dermatitis is the most common occupational skin disease. The role of the dermatologist is associated not only with responsibility in the diagnosis and treatment of the disease, but also in the identification of contact with the harmful substance. Rigorous, sometimes even detective work in taking a history, monitoring the course of the disease and epicutaneous tests are therefore an integral part of any investigation of these diseases.
