OBJECTIVE: The aim of the study was to examine trends in the prevalence of lifetime cannabis use among the Czech 15-year old students. METHODS: Data from the nationally representative Health Behaviour in School-aged Children Survey, conducted in the Czech Republic in 2002, 2006, 2010 and 2014, were used. Trends in cannabis use among both boys and girls were modelled through binary logistic regression with period as a predictor of the lifetime cannabis use. RESULTS: The prevalence of lifetime cannabis use has significantly decreased among young Czechs, particularly among boys. Gender differences in cannabis use have been also gradually decreasing since 2002, with no significant differences between genders in recent period. CONCLUSIONS: Although there are positive changes in the prevalence of adolescent cannabis use, from the European perspective, Czech students still belong to those with significantly higher rates in this respect. Thus, alongside with the use of other substances, adolescent cannabis consumption remains an important challenge for the national public health policy.

Motorické a funkčné predpoklady majú z hľadiska profesionálnej orientácie dôležitú podpornú funkciu a sú nevyhnutnou súčasťou profesionálnej sebarealizácie a jej dlhodobého napĺňania. Vzhľadom na vysoký podiel ženských kandidátok o záchranársku profesiu, ako aj žien vykonávajúcich túto profesiu je opodstatnené identifikovať rozdiely aj z aspektu pohlavia. Cieľom tejto práce je analýza a komparácia somatických a motorických ukazovateľov zdravotníckych záchranárov (Muži = 27, Ženy = 25) z hľadiska intersexuálnych rozdielov. Diagnostika bola realizovaná aplikáciou testovacieho systému Eurofit. Porovnaním somatometrických parametrov súborov Muži záchranári a Ženy záchranárky prostredníctvom analýzy rozptylu (one – way ANOVA, p < 0,05) je možné konštatovať štatisticky významné rozdiely vo všetkých skúmaných parametroch okrem hrúbky kožných rias. Zatiaľ čo priemerné BMI záchranárok sa nachádza v intervale normálnej hmotnosti, u záchranárov priemerná úroveň BMI indikuje nadváhu (>25 kg.m-2). Muži signifikantne dominujú výkonnosťou vo všetkých silových, vytrvalostných a rýchlostných motorických indikátoroch.
In terms of professional orientation, motor and functional preconditions play an important supporting role and form an indispensable part of professional self-realization and long-term career fulfillment. Given the high percentage of female candidates for rescue work as well as females already employed in this field, identifying differences between the sexes is fully justified. The aim of this study was to examine and compare physical and motor indicators of male (N = 27) and female (N = 25) emergency medical rescuers. There was Eurofit test system applied. Through comparison of the somatometric parameters of the Men rescue-workers and Women rescueworkers groups using one-way ANOVA (p < 0.05), we can state statistically significant differences in all examined parameters apart from sum of skin folds. While the average BMI of female rescue-workers is within the normal band, the average BMI of male workers indicates overweight (> 25 kg.m2). A significantly higher level of strength, speed and endurance indicators is demonstrated with male rescue workers.
