V našem kazuistickém sdělení představujeme případ 68letého pacienta se zcela náhodným záchytem časného dlaždicobuněčného karcinomu střední části jícnu. Během diagnostického procesu se makroskopický obraz nádoru měnil a i barvení Lugolovým roztokem (jinak pro diagnostiku časného dlaždicobuněčného karcinomu velice senzitivní a specifické metody) bylo překvapivě falešně negativní. Tuto „falešnou negativitu“ vysvětlilo podrobné histopatologické vyšetření. Klíčová slova: časný spinocelulární karcinom jícnu – Lugolův roztok – endoskopická resekce

We present a case report of a 68-year-old patient with accidental detection of early squamous cell carcinoma of the middle part of the oesophagus. During the diagnostic process, the macroscopic fading of the tumour had changed and Lugol's staining (otherwise a very sensitive and specific method for diagnosing early squamous carcinoma) was false negative. The false negative Lugol's staining was explained by a detailed histological assessment.
