Definice

Proproteinkonvertáza, která je nezbytná pro homeostázu cholesterolu. Váže se na receptor pro LDL (LDLR), receptor pro VLDL a receptor pro apolipoprotein E a je nezbytná pro lyzozomální degradaci těchto receptorů. Reguluje také neuronální apoptózu.

A proprotein convertase that is essential for CHOLESTEROL homeostasis. It binds to and is required for the lysosomal degradation of the LDL RECEPTOR (LDLR); the VLDL receptor, and the APOLIPOPROTEIN E RECEPTOR. It also regulates neuronal APOPTOSIS.
