In 2004-2005 there were admitted and treated 271 patients with stroke in Chronic rehabilitation unit. The present paper was aimed at analyzing functional dysfunction and sensomotor dysfunction in patients with stroke with and without diabetes mellitus using the questionnaire of functional impairment (FIM) before and after rehabilitation (RHB) lasting some months. Methods: We examined 271 patients with stroke. We assessed their dysfunction using FIM before and after RHB. We evaluated the values of motor function score (M) and cognitive function score (K). For statistical evaluation we used the Wilcoxon test. Conclusion: Rehabilitation of 271 patients with stroke with and without diabetes mellitus showed a significant improvement of motor functions, but not of cognitive functions. Our results do not show any differences between both groups.
