Autoři ve svém článku popisují poměrně novou optickou metodu určenou k vyšetření kmitavého pohybu hlasivek. V úvodu práce jsou popsány základní vlastnosti hlasu, dále je zde prezentován soubor 85 pacientů se suspektním tumorem hlasivek. Vysokorychlostní kamera nemůže nahradit konečnou diagnózu určenou histologickým vyšetřením, ale může ke stanovení diagnózy napomoci. Dokáže také sledovat vývoj hlasové rehabilitace. Je vhodná k dispenzarizaci pacientů s prekancerózami na hlasivkách.
The authors describe in their article a comparatively new optical method determined for the examination of oscillating motion of vocal cords. The principal characteristic of the voice is described in the introduction, and a group of 85 patients with suspected tumor of vocal cords is presented there. The high-speed camera cannot substitute the final diagnosis given by histological examination but it can lead to its determination, it manages the follow-up of vocal rehabilitation. It is suitable for dispensatory of patients with precancerous lesions vocal cords.

Sluch je důležitým smyslem. Ve stáří dochází často k jeho poškození vlivem civilizačních faktorů. Poškození sluchu ve stáří je dáno zhoršením funkce vláskových buněk vnitřního ucha a současně poškozením centrálního sluchového analyzátoru. Proto je největším steskem pacienta: „Slyším, ale nerozumím.“ S poruchou sluchu velice často souvisí i ušní šelesty, které mohou obtěžovat více než porucha sluchu. Sluch vyšetřujeme v tiché komoře tónovým audiometrem a srozumitelnost slovní audiometrií. Léčit percepční poruchu sluchu nelze cíleně, sluch můžeme kompenzovat sluchadlem. V závěru jsou probírány možnosti korekce, tvary a typy sluchadel.
Hearing is the important sense. In the age often have been coming its damage by factors of civilization. The damage of hearing in the age is caused by the bad function of hair cells of inner ear together with the damage of central hearing analysis system. We can hear from patient about their the biggest problem: “I can hear, but I can´t understand.” The disorder of hearing is very often connected with the tinnitus, which can be more inconvenienced then disorder of hearing. The hearing is examined by pure tone audiometry in the silent room, the speech recognition score by means of speech audiometry. We can´t treat the hearing disorder of perceptive, but we can compensate hearing loss by the hearing aids. There are discussing the possibility of the correction, types and shapes of the hearing aids.
