Karcinom prsu je v současné době nejčastějším zhoubným nádorem u žen a incidence onemocnění stále narůstá. Ročně je v České republice zjištěno téměř 6.500 nových případů onemocnění a přibližně 2.000 žen ročně tomuto onemocnění podlehne. Karcinom prsu zaujímá prvenství mezi příčinami úmrtí u žen ve věkové kategorii 20-54 let. Cílem tohoto příspěvku je poukázat na preventivní programy a tím na včasné odhalení karcinomu prsu u žen.
Breast cancer is currently the most common type of cancer between women and the incidence of this type of cancer is growing. Annually, nearly 6,500 new cases of this disease are detected in the Czech Republic, and approximately 2,000 women per year pass away because of this illness. Breast cancer is leading cause of death among young women from the age 20 to the age 54. The aim of this article is to point out preventative programs and thus the early detection of breast cancer.
