Prostate cancer is one of the most common tumors in men. Androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) is a proven therapeutical option in advanced and metastatic tumors. Its use is connected with several adverse events, among others with cancer treatment induced bone loss (CTIBL) which plays an important role for the bone health as pathological fractures are frequent consequence of low bone mineral density. The frequency of osteoprorosis and osteopenia in our population of 100 ADT treated prostate cancer patients is discussed.
