V uvedené kazuistice se popisuje zajímavý případ postižení plic manifestním plicním edémem u 44letého muže, a to po ojedinělé intravenózní aplikaci tetrachlorethylenu v dávce 5 ml v suicidálním úmyslu. Další průběh při terapii kortikoidy byl příznivý, s přechodnou mírnou alterací renálních a jaterních funkcí. V diskusi se uvádí srovnání se známým dokumentovaným postižením organismu po inhalační intoxikaci.
Authors describe an interesting case of acute pulmonary edema after intravenous application of 5 ml of tetrachloroethylene in 44-years-old man with suicidal intent. The course was favourable after treatment by corticosteroids. Transitory alteration of renal and hepatic functions appeared. Comparison with the well-known damage after inhalation of tetrachloroethylene is discussed.
