Analýza lásky coby umění k překonání vlastní odloučenosti.

Láska ve všech svých formách představuje základ tvořivé síly, aktivní péči o život, odpovědnost za život a úctu k životu. Praktický prožitek lásky má podobu čistě osobního zážitku, jenž může pociťovat pouze každý sám a ze svého nitra. Hlavní podmínkou pro dosažení tohoto citu je překonání vlastního narcisismu a následné získání schopnosti osvojit si objektivní obraz: vidět lidi i věci takové jací skutečně jsou. Celý život člověka musí být zasvěcen relativnímu vykořenění narcisismu, rozvoji pokory, objektivity a rozumu. Umění milovat závisí na schopnosti růst, vyvinout tvůrčí orientaci vůči světu i vůči sobě. Klíčovou podmínku tudíž ztělesňuje aktivita, vnitřní aktivita, tvůrčí využití vlastních sil. Lidský jedinec však tento cit nesmí prožívat výlučně ke svým blízkým, ale musí si osvojit milující postoj ke každému... Daný niterný proces však vyžaduje radikální společenskou změnu, která umožní splynutí milující povahy člověka s jeho společenskou existencí. Svazky 1-72 1.vyd. 1966 73-84 2.vyd. 1967

Projekt Kruh prstenu: Světové dějiny sexuality, erotiky a lásky od počátků do současnosti v reálném životě, krásné literatuře, výtvarném umění a dílech českých malířů a sochařů inspirovaných obsahem této knihy vznikl počátkem devadesátých let minulého století. Představuje vytvoření reprezentativní trojsvazkové publikace a sbírky erotik českých malířů a sochařů. V jednotlivých číslech časopisu Anthropologia integra jsou uveřejňovány medailony zúčastněných výtvarníků a reprodukovány některé z jejich artefaktů vytvořených pro projekt Kruh prstenu (Malina 2010). Dnes: malíř Vladimír Svoboda.

The Project The Circle of the Ring: Th e World History of Sexuality, Eroticism and Love from the Beginnings up to the Present Day in Real Life, Belle-Lettres, Visual Art and in the Works of Czech Painters and Sculptors Inspired by the Content of this Book arose at the beginning of the 1990s. It presents the formation of the representative publication in three volumes and a collection of erotica of Czech painters and sculptors. Particular volumes of the journal Anthropologia integra will include short profi les on the participating artists as well as reproductions of some of their artefacts created for the project Th e Circle of the Ring (Malina 2010). Today: painter, graphic artist and sculptor Vladimír Svoboda.

Článek reaguje na studii K. Hnilici (2019) a nabízí komplementární teoretický výklad PC. Cílem PC je rovnováha mezi základními hodnotami demokracie – svobodou a rovností. (Konflikt mezi svobodou a rovností je ostatně hlavním paradoxem demokracie, režimu, který lze považovat za institucionalizovaný systém mírového řešení konfliktů – Pax democratica). Tak jako sexuální obtěžování nebo šikana, je i PC fenoménem, který se týká mocenských vztahů. PC se v zájmu zmírnění nerovnosti často dopouští omezování svobody slova zvláště sociálně dominantních občanů. Hlavními nástroji PC jsou zdůraznění diskrepancí mezi majoritou a minoritami, eufemizmy, nediskriminace, whistleblowing, ale i udavačství a cenzura. Nejsilnější zastánci PC jsou levicoví liberálové, odpůrci mívají pravicové/konzervativní politické názory nebo sklony ke xenofobii. Demokratizující se společnosti procházejí ve vztahu k PC vývojovými stadii: v totalitních hierarchiích PC neexistuje – jsou ve stadiu 0; ve stadiu 1 proniká PC z progresivních enkláv do médií a ve 2. stadiu se o PC svádí veřejný boj, v tomto stadiu se zřejmě nachází většina post-komunistických zemí. V konečném, třetím stadiu je buď PC potlačena a menšiny jsou nadále veřejně insultovány (stadium 3a), nebo PC nekontrolovaně převládne, nastoluje autocenzuru, udavačství, lež (3c), anebo, ideálně, PC v mezích slušnosti a umírněnosti funguje jako civilizační faktor (3b). Zmíněná slušnost (respekt, benevolence) a ctnost umírněnosti (temperance, vystříhání se extrémů, skromnost) jsou vedle práva nezbytnými demokratickými faktory. Takto umírněná PC podporuje rovnost a zároveň nás nepřipraví o informace, alternativní umění ani šibeniční humor. V našem kulturním prostředí s dědictvím masarykovského humanismu, čapkovského radikálního centrismu, liberalismu i humoru (smějící se bestie), může PC hrát kultivující roli a její zápory mohou být omezeny. I ideál Pravdy a Lásky (V. Havel) může být paradigmatem k usměrnění PC: Láska (benevolence, eufemizmy) nesmí potírat Pravdu (nastolit cenzuru a dezinformace). Konečně, každý jsme občas v menšině, PC dříve či později může chránit i naše zájmy.

This article responds to a study by K. Hnilica (2019) and suggests a complementary theory of PC. The aim of PC is balance between the fundamental values of democracy, i.e., freedom and equality. (Incidentally, the conflict between freedom and equality is also the fundamental paradox of democracy, an institutionalized conflict-resolution system, Pax democratica). PC deals with power, as do sexual harassment or bullying. In order to alleviate inequalities, PC tends to limit freedom of speech of sociallydominant citizens. The main tools of PC include pinpointing the majority-minorities disparities, euphemisms, non-discrimination, whistleblowing, along with spurious whistleblowing and censorship. The strongest advocates of PC are leftist liberals, adversaries tend to be right-wing conservatives and/or xenophobes. Democratizing societies deal with PC in developmental stages: totalitarian societies without PC are at stage 0; at stage 1 PC permeates from progressive enclaves into the media; at stage 2 PC undergoes rigorous scrutiny in the mainstream discourses; most post-communist societies are at this turbulent stage. Finally, at the third stage, PC is either (3a) suppressed and minorities keep on to be publicly insulted, or (3c) PC takes over, causing extensive self-censorship, whistleblowing, half-truths and lies; or (3b), ideally, PC restrained by civility and temperance acts as a civilizing factor, it promotes equality yet at the same time does not censor information, art or humor. Besides law, civility (respect, benevolence) and the virtue of temperance (modesty, avoiding extremes) are indispensable for democracy. In the Czech cultural milieu, with its heritage of Masaryk’s humanism, Čapek’s radical centrism, liberalism and humor, the positives of PC may outweigh the negatives. The values of Love and Truth (professed by Václav Havel) may also serve as a paradigm for restraining PC: Love (euphemisms, benevolence) must not crush Truth (censorship, disinformation). Finally, everyone is occasionally in minority and PC may serve his/her interests.

In August of 2005 after much talk about crystal meth in the media, the Canadian Federal Government stiffened penalties for the possession, production and trafficking of crystal meth. Despite the rise of crystal meth use in Canada, with amphetamines being the drug most frequently found in seizures (1) the National Drug Strategy continues to implement its 2008 Plan in a very general way with equal attention paid to all illegal drugs of abuse. Since crystal meth is one of the most potentially dangerous of all known, illegal drugs of abuse, there is an increasing need to promote specific crystal meth education and prevention strategies nationally. A new prevention approach is needed focusing on MSM's, ravers and after hour club goers. Visual artist and harm reduction activist Kat Coric consistently uses her art to effectively spread crystal meth prevention and education to club kids and MSM's in innovative ways. By working with rave producers and party promoters, she disseminates harm reduction messages to a greater audience. The presentation will include examples of grassroots crystal meth harm reduction initiatives pioneered by Coric and her collaborators in Montreal between 1999-2007. An overview will be given of the harm reduction measures developed by Coric and Pierre- Paul Tellier, MD CCFP for the BBCM Foundation. The presentation will also include a viewing of the 5-minute movie; Leatherella A gainst The Evil Cr ystal Queen (2005) created and produced by Kat Coric & Jean-Pierre Pérusse, followed by a group discussion. Kat Coric (1969) was born in Dubrovnik, Croatia and immigrated with her family to Montreal, Quebec in 1974. She is a multi- disciplinary artist, creator, producer and art collector. She obtained a Bachelor of Fine Art degree from Concordia University in 1994. Kat Coric is recognized as one of the few female, heterosexual artists to work as a social activist and health advocate within the gay circuit party subculture where she has been active since 1996. In her art she explores the relationship between recreational drugs, HIV / AIDS, Harm Reduction and the underground dance club culture and she produces special events that foster education around these subjects. An established painter in her own right; her art works are in numerous private and public collections including; The Tom of Finland Foundation, MTV/VH1 Networks, Planned Parenthood, DJ's Junior Vasquez, Angel Moraes, Warren Gluck and Mark Anthony. In 2005, she produced and stared in the film: Leatherella Against the Evil Crystal Queen; a five-minute sci-fi feature about the dangers of crystal meth. She is currently working on a new, public service announcement about crystal meth for TV. Kat Coric is represented by Arch & Company Fine Ar ts Ltd., Toront o. www.archart.ca Kat Coric is a dynamic, multi talented art- ist. Her work is sensitive, provocative and engaging. She is one of the few HIV and Aids activist artists in Montreal. She is a force, a strong and important figure that has con- tributed greatly to the community. She is also and incredible collaborator with vision and action. She puts all of her heart, soul and spirit into everything she is involved in -Victor Pilon, 4-DART, Creator, Producer, Delirium, Cirque du Soleil, Montréal. Just as Randy Shultz subverted histori- cal writing to the cause of AIDS preven- tion and treatment, Kat Coric has used all forms of artistry to convey messages of peace, love, understanding, and health. Her works, often enigmatic and always shocking, speak to both the mind and the heart. Through her collaborations with other activist artists throughout North America, she has led a movement towards realism and activism in art that conveys life saving messages - David G. Ostrow, MD, Ph.D. - Gay Health Activist and noted AIDS researcher, Chicago, USA.
