Autorka sa zaoberá problematikou úrovne pohybových schopností žiakov s oslabením oporno - pohybového aparátu. Namerané hodnoty 8 motorických testov porovnáva s priemernými hodnotami dostupnej literatúry. V závere autorka vyvodzuje závery pre prax a odporúča vytvorenie noriem priemernej úrovne rozvoj a pohybových schopností pre jednotlivé vekové skupiny a druhy zdravotných oslabení.
Summary The author deals with the issue of the output level of locomotive skills of students with the impaired postural locomotor system. The records of eight motor tests are compared to the average results commonly found in the literature. She concludes with the inferences applicable in practice with recommendation for establishing the norms of average motor skills for each age group and each category of physical handicap.

Cardiovascular diseases are the most important cause of morbidity and mortality in the civilized world. Stenosis or occlusion of blood vessels leads not only to events that are directly life-threatening, such as myocardial infarction or stroke, but also to a significant reduction in quality of life, for example in lower limb ischemia as a consequence of metabolic diseases. The first synthetic polymeric vascular replacements were used clinically in the early 1950s. However, they proved to be suitable only for larger-diameter vessels, where the blood flow prevents the attachment of platelets, pro-inflammatory cells and smooth muscle cells on their inner surface, whereas in smaller-diameter grafts (6 mm or less), these phenomena lead to stenosis and failure of the graft. Moreover, these polymeric vascular replacements, like biological grafts (decellularized or devitalized), are cell-free, i.e. there are no reconstructed physiological layers of the blood vessel wall, i.e. an inner layer of endothelial cells to prevent thrombosis, a middle layer of smooth muscle cells to perform the contractile function, and an outer layer to provide innervation and vascularization of the vessel wall. Vascular substitutes with these cellular components can be constructed by tissue engineering methods. However, it has to be admitted that even about 70 years after the first polymeric vascular prostheses were implanted into human patients, there are still no functional small-diameter vascular grafts on the market. The damage to small-diameter blood vessels has to be addressed by endovascular approaches or by autologous vascular substitutes, which leads to some skepticism about the potential of tissue engineering. However, new possibilities of this approach lie in the use of modern technologies such as 3D bioprinting and/or electrospinning in combination with stem cells and pre-vascularization of tissue-engineered vascular grafts. In this endeavor, sex-related differences in the removal of degradable biomaterials by the cells and in the behavior of stem cells and pre-differentiated vascular cells need to be taken into account. Key words: Blood vessel prosthesis, Regenerative medicine, Stem cells, Footprint-free iPSCs, sr-RNA, Dynamic bioreactor, Sex-related differences.
Imported from the Andean region to Europe in the 16th century, today tomato is widespread throughout the world and represents the most economically important vegetable crop worldwide. Tomato is not only traded in the fresh market but is also used in the processing industry in soups, as paste, concentrate, juice, and ketchup. It is an incredible source of important nutrients such as lycopene, β-carotene and vitamin C, which all have positive impacts on human health. Its production and consumption is increasing with population growth. In this review, we report how tomato was already domesticated by the ancient Incan and Aztec civilizations, and how it came to Europe, where its breeding history started. The development of genetic, molecular biology and plant biotechnology have opened the doors towards the modern genetic engineering of tomato. The different goals of tomato genetic engineering are presented, as well as examples of successfully engineered tomatoes in terms of resistance to biotic and abiotic stresses, and fruit quality. The development of GM tomato for biopharming is also described.

Autori prezentujú prípad potenciálneho ohrozenia života a zdravia cestujúcich v prostriedku hromadnej dopravy – vlaku, ktoré zapríčinil zamestnanec železníc. Išlo o strojvodcu osobného vlaku, ktorý v dôsledku alkoholovej ebriety počas jazdy vlakom vytváral nepredvídateľné situácie, nedodržiaval harmonogram jazdy, hrubo porušoval pracovné predpisy a napĺňal skutkovú podstatu trestného činu ohrozenia pod vplyvom návykovej látky. Koncentrácia alkoholu v krvi po príslušnom prepočte dosahovala hodnotu v rozmedzí 1,2 – 1,5 g/kg, čo predstavuje už hodnotu zasahujúcu do rozmedzia úrovne ľahkého až stredného stupňa opitosti. V kazuistike je poukázané aj na medicínsko-právny aspekt prezentovaného prípadu, ktorý mal pracovnoprávny a trestnoprávny dosah na tohto zamestnanca.
The authors present a case of a potentially life-threatening consequences and health damage of passengers in publictransport – train, which was caused by arailway employee. The engine-driver of the local train caused unforeseen hazardous situations during train ride due to alcohol intoxication, he did not respect the travel schedule and seriously infringed working rules, railway policy and morals. The concentration of alcohol in the blood after appropriate backtracking calculation reached a concentration ranging from 1.2 to 1.5 g/kg, representing the level ofmild to moderate alcohol intoxication. We also demonstrate the forensic investigation of this case from a medical-juristic point of view, which lead to civil litigation process.

Radon diffusion coefficient is a material parameter which is usually used in the radon mitigation measures design. There are different approaches used for radon diffusion coefficient measurement and assessment. The International comparison measurement which was jointly organised by National Radiation Protection Institute and Faculty of Civil Engineering CTU Prague in 2009 and 2010 has registered 11 laboratories from all over the world. Three sets of samples of polyethylene damp-proof membranes were sent to these laboratories for measurement. Till today, the organisers received only five sets of results. The results showed a great variability among laboratories involved.
