Informácie, periooperačná starostlivosť, kompletný multiodborovo zohratý tím a rodina počas periooperačného obdobia sú veľmi dôležité na pochopenie, podporu, zvládnutie a rekonvalescenciu pacienta.

Information, peri-surgical care, complex multidisciplinary team and family during perisurgical period are very important for understanding, support, management and reconvelescence of the patient.
Práca sestry v anestéziologickej a intenzívnej starostlivosti je veľmi namáhavá a zodpovedná. Sestra sa pri vykonávaní tejto profesie stretáva s množstvom problémov a veľkým množstvom zodpovedných činností a popri tom sa stretáva s legislatívnymi medzerami. V súčasnosti čoraz viac rezonuje v radoch odbornej verejnosti viacero pálčivých otázok a problémov, ktoré sa týkajú výkonu profesie sestry na úseku anestéziológie a prijatím vyšších kompetencií.
Work of a nurse in anesthesiological and intensive care is very strenuous and responsible. A nurse meets with many problems and plenty of responsible activity and along the way encounters a legislative gap in the implementation of the profession. A number of pressing questions and problems concerning the role of a nurse profession in the field of anesthesiology and receive higher responsibilities in the professional community resonates more and more today.
Anestéziológia a intenzívna medicína je odbor zdravotnej starostlivosti, ktorý sa venuje anestetickej a intenzívnej starostlivosti o kriticky chorých pacientov. Výkon tejto starostlivosti má charakter silnej multidisciplinárnej spolupráce. Povolanie sestra má v tomto tíme nezastupiteľnú úlohu. Turbulentný celospoločenský vývoj neobchádza ani tento špecializovaný odbor, teda ani intenzívnu a anestetickú ošetrovateľskú starostlivosť. Vývoju podliehajú aj legislatívne normy, ktoré treba zosúladiť s praxou v kontexte s demografickým vývojom spoločnosti isúčasným vzdelaním sestier s prihliadnutím na ošetrovateľstvo zamerané na dôkazoch a samotný výskum.
Cieľom prieskumu bolo overiť informovanosť geriatrických pacientov o anestézií, ich spokojnosť s prístupom zdravotníckeho personálu a zistiť vplyv rodiny na ich psychickú pohodu. Potrebné informácie sme získali dotazníkom vlastnej konštrukcie. Našimi respondentmi boli pacienti v seniorskom veku hospitalizovaní za účelom podstúpenia niektorého druhu anestézie na Chirurgickej klinike a Gynekologicko-pôrodníckej klinike Fakultnej nemocnice Trnava. Prieskumnú vzorku tvorilo spolu 40 respondentov. Z výsledkov nášho prieskumu vyplýva, že 65% respondentov je spokojných s množstvom informácií. Našim prieskumom sme zistili, že rodina zohráva veľkú úlohu na psychickú pohodu seniorov počas hospitalizácie. Až 85% respondentov uviedlo, že podpora zo strany rodiny u nich zmiernila obavy z podstúpenia anestézie. Informácie o anestézii sú pre väčšinu pacientov dôležité a rovnako dôležitý je pre nich aj prístup zdravotníckych pracovníkov, ktorí im tieto informácie podávajú a nemenej dôležitá je pre nich aj psychická podpora zo strany rodiny.
The course of the survey of was to validate geriatric patients aweareness of anaesthesia, their satisfaction with attitude of medical personnel and to determine the impact of their families on their mental comfort. Necessary informations were obtained by a questionnaire of our own construction. Our respondents were patients in senior age hospitalized in order to undergo a certain type of anaesthesia on Surgical clinic and Gynaecologic-obstetric clinic of University hospital in Trnava. Survey sample was made of 40 respondents. From survey results 65% of respondents were satisfied with the amount of information. Through our survey we determined that family has a great impact on seniors' mental well-being during hospitalization. 85% of respondents stated that support from their families reduced their worries of undergoing anaesthesia. That information about anaesthesia are for the most of the patients just as important as the attitude of medical employees, who provide them with these informations and psychological support from family is equally important for them.
