The article summarizes the history of modern wound treatment. It also brings the most important results of the study focused on the level of the knowledge of wound treatment among the nurses in hospital Pardubice.

Karcinom prsu je v České republice nejčastěji se vyskytujícím zhoubným nádorem u žen. Počet nově hlášených nádorů v posledních desetiletích postupně narůstá a jedná se i o nižší věkové kategorie. Díky mamografickému screeningu bývá karcinom objeven včas. Toto vyšetření má rozhodující vliv na snížení mortality.
The breast carcinoma is the most frequent malignancy in the women in the Czech Republic. The incidence of the breast carcinoma is still increasing. In the last years the number of the new report cases is higher also in young women. As the screening mamography is established in the Czech Republic, carcinoma is detected soon. This fact decreases mortality for the breast cancer.
