BACKGROUND: In 2008, members of the TEPARG provided first insights into the legal and ethical framework governing body donation in Europe. In 2012, a first update followed. This paper is now the second update on this topic and tries to extend the available information to many more European countries. METHODS: For this second update, we have asked authors from all European countries to contribute their national perspectives. By this enquiry, we got many contributions compiled in this paper. When we did not get a personal contribution, one of us (EB) searched the internet for relevant information. RESULTS: Perspectives on the legal and ethical framework governing body donation in Europe. CONCLUSIONS: We still see that a clear and rigorous legal framework is still unavailable in several countries. We found national regulations in 18 out of 39 countries; two others have at least federal laws. Several countries accept not only donated bodies but also utilise unclaimed bodies. These findings can guide policymakers in reviewing and updating existing laws and regulations related to body donation and anatomical studies.

PURPOSE OF THE STUDY The purpose of this study was to assess the available information on patients with a whole-body CT and to ascertain whether the number of examinations could be reduced. MATERIAL AND METHODS This retrospective study included all patients who underwent a whole-body CT in the University Hospital Olomouc during a period of one year. Epidemiologic data of patients and information about the trauma and injuries suffered were collected. The injuries were assessed using the Abbreviated Injury Scale and the Injury Severity Score and classified as high- and low-energy injuries. These two groups were subsequently compared. RESULTS A total of 338 patients were examined, of whom 75% were male and the median age of all patients was 48 years. The most frequent causes of trauma were road accidents in 53% and falls from height in 25%. Ninety-one percent of examined patients were admitted to hospital, 42% underwent a surgery and 3% died. The average ISS was 10.7 and the severity of injury increased with age (p = 0.01). The patients after an attempted suicide and those after motorbike and bike accidents had the highest ISS observed. A higher ISS was detected more often in high-energy traumas than in low-energy traumas (p = 0.002). A completely negative polytrauma CT scan finding was observed in 5 patients with low-energy trauma and in 9 patients with high-energy trauma. CONCLUSIONS High-energy injuries were shown to be associated with higher severity as well as more negative CT scans than lowenergy ones. Bearing in mind that a whole-body CT scan is an extensive examination in which relatively high doses of radiation are used, it should always be considered whether a selective CT of fewer body parts would not be sufficient for the diagnosis. Key words: abbreviated injury scale, injury severity score, multiple trauma.

Perception of a pregnant woman's body has been changing through time. While women used to wear baggy clothes trying to cover their pregnancy, today it is completely acceptable exposing and showing your naked pregnant body. „Hiding“ pregnancy once in the Western world was a consequence of taboos that the pregnancy reminds of a corporeality and sexual act that caused it. That required from the pregnant woman covering up and withdrawal from society until the moment of birth. Over time perspective of the body's pregnancy visibility has completely changed. Today, following the example of the world's starlets, every pregnant woman wants a print of her belly in plaster, photos that mark the growth of her belly from day to day. The first 3 months were considered and still are considered a period when the fetus is particularly sensitive and a miscarriage is more likely to occur. Today in the age of social networks, women announce their pregnancy to everyone immediately after the appearance of a small blue plus on the test. In this paper, it will be shown what changes in the body pregnant women encounter throughout the pregnancy, from the very beginning to childbirth.

The paper describes a software tool created to inspect the anatomical structures of any segmented voxel model of the human body for use in numerical analyses of the interaction of non-ionizing electromagnetic radiation with a metallic implant. A voxel model is a three-dimensional representation of the human body model in the form of a numerical array of indices that identify each element as belonging to a particular tissue, organ, or anatomical part. The process of virtual implant placement within these models while maintaining their anatomical limitations is complex and time-consuming. We have created a software tool in the MATLAB environment to simplify and speed up this process. As a representative case, we used the developed tool to identify three implantation sites of pacing electrodes within the cardiovascular system of the available AustinMan and AustinWoman models.

The head is an important element of the biokinetic chain. Under physiological conditions, it should extend along the midline of the body. Due to its location and the fact that it constitutes approx. 6% of the total body weight, many authors believe it has a significant impact on its functioning. The aim of this study was to conduct a systematic literature search and to synthesize the evidence of the impact of the head posture on the functioning of the human body. A systematic review was conducted within 3 databases: PubMed, Medline OVID, and EBSCO, using the following terms: "forward head," "posture," "position," and "neck." For the analysis, scientific articles published after 2013 were selected. A total of 16 studies matched the inclusion criteria of this systematic review. Their results have proven that the position of the head has a significant effect on the human body. Research findings show that abnormal head position changes affect muscle activity, proprioception, the pattern of breathing and neck pain. This is the first systematic review of the relationship between the head posture, and the functioning of the human body. The results of this study seem to be promising if used in therapeutic practice. Int J Occup Med Environ Health. 2020;33(5):559-68.
