Alopecia areata is an autoimmune disease that causes unscarred hair loss. The extent of alopecia varies from small patches to complete loss of hair on the head and body, which can have a major psychosocial impact on the affected person. Treatment methods used so far have included non-specific immunosuppressants such as corticosteroids, cyclosporine and methotrexate, or topical immunomodulators such as diphencypron, dithranol and squaric acid dibutylester. The lack of consistent results, the adverse side-effect profile and the difficulty of application are the main problems of these treatments, which limit their use. With increasing knowledge of the pathogenesis of the disease, new treatment options are emerging with promising results. The aim of this review is to summarize the role, efficacy and safety of modern treatments already in use or under clinical development in alopecia areata.

Hidradenitis suppurativa is a chronic inflammatory disease, that often starts in pediatric population, unfortunately there is a gap between onset and diagnosing this disease. The early onset of symptom is usually associated with a more serious course of the disease. Early diagnosis let us start appropriate therapy as soon as possible and help us to prevent exacerbations, complications and comorbidities. This article summarizes information about the epidemiology, clinical manifestations, comorbidities and treatment for patients under 19 years of age.
V následujícím textu je stručně shrnuta etiopatogeneze onemocnění, možnosti její prevence a terapeutické možnosti.
Alopecia areata is an autoimmune disorder causing an acute patchy hair loss characterised by non-scaring, well-demarcated bald areas of various size. Even though it is not a life threatening disease, it is a condition which has an impact on daily-living of the patient and represent strong psychological distress. Ethiology of alopecia areata is not completely understood, but genetic, environmental and some concomitant comorbidities can play role in pathogenesis. Therapy of AA is difficult and treatment response is individiual. Nevertheless the spectrum of therapeutical possibilities is relatively extensive. In following text is shortly described the etiopathogenesis of AA, prevention, possibilites and therapeutical options.

Atopic dermatitis is a chronic inflammatory skin disease that affects both children and adults. It is characterized by intense itching, redness, and scaling of the skin. The pathogenesis of atopic dermatitis involves complex interactions between genetic, immunological, and environmental factors. JAK inhibitors are a new class of drugs that target the Janus kinase (JAK) signaling pathway, which plays a key role in the pathogenesis of atopic dermatitis. JAK inhibitors have been shown to effectively reduce inflammation in a variety of inflammatory diseases, including atopic dermatitis.

Atopická dermatitida (AD) je nejčastější chronické kožní onemocnění v pediatrické populaci. AD je spojena se zvýšeným rizikem rozvoje celé řady komorbidit, včetně asthma bronchiale, potravinových alergií, alergické rhinitidy, psychiatrických a infekčních onemocnění. AD ovlivňuje fyzické, psychické a sociální zdraví, pohodu a mezilidské vztahy, což vede k psychickému stresu. AD má tedy dopad na fyzické, sociální, školní, duševní a rodinné aspekty života dospívajících a je spojena i s některými psychiatrickými onemocněními. Zde popisujeme případ adolescentního pacienta s těžkou formou AD, úspěšně léčeného dupilumabem.
Atopic dermatitis (AD) is the most common chronic inflammatory skin disorder of childhood and adolescence. AD is associated with comorbidities such as asthma, food allergy, allergic rhinitis, mental disorders and skin infections. AD affects physical, psychological and social health, well-being and interpersonal relationships, leading to high levels of psychological stress. AD, thus, has an impact on the physical, social, school, mental and family aspects of adolescents' lives and is associated with several psychiatric disorders. In this case report, we describe successful treatment of severe AD in an adolescent male with dupilumab.
