Cíl: Srovnání laparoskopických resekcí žaludku ve světě a v České republice. Autor v článku uvádí krátkou historii laparoskopických výkonů na žaludku, přehled nejčastěji indikovaných výkonů a indikační kritéria, zmiňuje nezbytné technické vybavení, hodnotí úskalí a přínos laparoskopických resekcí, zamýšlí se nad možnostmi a kritérii provádění těchto výkonů v našich podmínkách. Závěr: Laparoskopická resekce se stává alternativou resekce otevřené. Vzhledem k malým počtům těchto výkonů je vhodné jak laparoskopické, tak otevřené resekce a operace žaludku pro karcinom směřovat do specializovaných center.
Aim: To compare laparoscopic gastric resections in the world and in the Czech Republic. The author presents a short history of laparoscopic gastric surgeries, an overview of the most commonly indicated procedures, and the criteria for indication, mentions necessary technical equipment, evaluates the pitfalls and benefits of laparoscopic resections, and reflects on the options of and criteria for performing these procedures in the conditions of the Czech Republic. Conclusion: Laparoscopic resection has become an alternative to open resection. Given the small number of these procedures, it is advisable to refer both laparoscopic and open resections and surgeries for gastric cancer to specialized centres.

Brachyterapie neboli vnitřní radioterapie není metodou nijak novou. V posledním desetiletí však prožívá obrovský rozmach, který vychází z převratných technologických změn. Patří k nim využívání CT, MRI či transrektální sonografie pro plánování tzv. navigované konformní brachyterapie a vývoj nových radioizotopů s různou aktivitou a energií (Ir192, Pd103, I125, Au198 apod.). Díky tomu se rozšiřují indikace brachyterapie a počet pacientů léčených touto metodou, ať již v kombinaci se zevní radioterapií nebo samostatně, neustále roste. V článku budou uvedeny příklady indikací a technik používaných v moderní brachyterapii.
Brachytherapy or internal radiation is not a new method. In the last decade, however, it experienced a huge boom, which is based on revolutionary technological changes. These include the use of CT, MRI or transrectal sonography for the planning of so-called navigated conformal brachytherapy and the development of new radioisotopes with different activity and energy (Ir192, Pd103, I125, Au198, etc.). Thanks to that the indications of brachytherapy are extending and the number of patients treated with this method, either in combination with external radiotherapy or alone, is constantly increasing. The article gives examples of the indications and techniques used in modern brachytherapy.
