Výsledky výskumu potvrdili vyššiu vstupnú úroveň koordinačnej výkonnosti súborov športovcov a jej plynulý dynamický rast vo veku 11 až 15 rokov. Nárast koordinačnej výkonnosti všetkých súborov mal paralelný charakter v poradí futbalisti, basketbalisti, atléti a populácia.
The authors present results of coordination ability tests done on a cross section of three types of sports: track and field, basketball, soccer in athletes aged from 11 to 15 years. Coordination performance was calculated from the sum of points attained in a battery of 7 tests. The starting point for defining a scale of points was the average performance obtained from a sample of the population of 11-year-old children. Results proved a higher entry level of coordination performance from this sample of 11 to 15-year-old athletes, and its constant dynamic increase. All samples showed a parallel increase of coordination performance in the following order: track and field, basketball, soccer.

Today physical education is of great concern as the modern lifestyle tends to be sedentary and involves children into very little physical activities. Evasion of compulsory physical education (PE) classes has evolved into a noticeable tendency among the 1st to 9th grade students. An insufficient understanding of the significance of a healthy lifestyle is also observed. Because of these students' inner motivation and formation of attitude towards sports is very important. The objective of our research is to analyze basic motivation determinants and students' attitude towards sports classes in complex with determining ways of improving PE lesson attractiveness. The following research tasks were forwarded: 1. Establishing the main motivational determinants for attendance of and attitudes at physical education classes from students and teachers viewpoints. 2. Creating recommendations for sport education program development and sport classes' organization in Latvia. To accomplish the task 26 sport teachers were interviewed. An open-answers inquiry was also done on 937 school children aged 12–16 (285 students in grades 5 and 6, 358 students in grades 7 and 8, and 294 students in grade 9). In the present research we evaluated viewpoints of the social cognitive theory (SCT), theory of reasoned action (TRA) and theory of planned behaviour (TPB) to investigate the psychological and social factors by which adolescents' motivation in physical activity transfers into regular attendance of sports classes. Inquiry results showed that students' attitude towards PE lessons with increasing age has a negative dynamics, students' opinions of what a good PE lesson should be like change as well. Teachers on the other hand point out that they cannot apply many of their better ideas in lesson organization because they need to be organized according to the Ministry's of Education standards and evaluation criteria. In general we concluded that it is necessary to make the PE lessons more appealing to students by introducing more sports games into them, reducing the amount of norms to be met during performance tests, and emphasizing the importance of student's willingness to get involved and trying to do their best in the lessons and as opposed to their physical abilities in the assessment. In changing the lesson content teachers should also take into account that with changing age students' interests change as well, and make sure these interests are met for all age groups. Key words: students' attitude, motivation, health, physical education and sports.

The purpose of this study was to: examine the development of somatic indices and physical performances in current 10 - 19 year old Czech young people by the selected motor abilities tests, and to compare their results with those of their counterparts of 13 years ago; investigate the association between the participation in sport and physical activity and physical performance. A quota sample of 4199, 10 – 19 year old boys and girls were administered the COMPASS questionnaire (Coordinated Monitoring of Physical Activities and Sports) focused on frequency, organization in sport clubs and participation in sport competitions. Somatic characteristics: the body height, weight and three skin folds were measured. The physical performance of respondents was evaluated by four motor abilities tests selected from the European physical test battery (EUROFIT) in all age groups: the standing broad jump, sit-ups per 60 s, endurance shuttle run and 4 x 10 m shuttle run (boys and girls up to 14 year old), bent-arm hang (girls older than 15 years), or pull ups (boys older than 15 years) were assessed. The results confirmed the increase of body fat and the decrease of physical fitness during the last thirteen years. The dynamic endurance – strength ability of abdominal and iliopsoas muscles the (sit-ups per 60s) was an exception. The biggest decrease was found in the aerobic ability of young people (20m shuttle run). The lower performance in this test corresponds to the low involvement of today’s young people in sport and physical activities and their higher participation in sedentary activities. Positive links between the levels of participation in sport through the cohorts of COMPASS categories and physical performances in spite of a different speed of physical development in respondents in all applied motor abilities tests were identified

Práca prezentuje čiastkovú úlohu, ktorú sme realizovali v školskom roku 2009/2010 so žiakmi druhého stupňa základnej školy.
The work presents a partial role, we have made in the 2009/2010 school year with pupils at primary school. The results documented that using compensatory exercise can positively influence the development of spinal mobility. The duration of the experimental agent was 8 months, twice a week in physical and sport education. Selection exercises he was factor for the development of specific dynamic function of the spine. Basis for the program were exercises under Kábelíková - Vávrová (1997), modified for practice under Antošovská (1997) in meeting the training methodology. Effect of experimental factor had a positive effect and was statistically significant for girls and boys. Statistically significant at the 5 % significane level were also changes in time (between input and output tests) for boys and girls. Overall, girls achieve better mobility, but boys reported greater average differences between input and output tests.
