Modeling the cardiovascular system as an analogy of an electrical circuit composed of resistors, capacitors and inductors is introduced in many research papers. This contribution uses an object oriented and acausal approach, which was recently introduced by several other authors, for educational and research purpose. Examples of several hydraulic systems and whole system modeling hemodynamics of a pulsatile cardiovascular system are presented in Modelica language using Physiolibrary.
Modelica is an object-oriented language, in which models can be created and graphically represented by connecting instances of classes from libraries. These connections are not only assignments of values; they can also represent acausal equality. Even more, they can model Kirchhoff's laws of circuits. In Modelica it is possible to develop library classes which are an analogy of electrical circuit components. The result of our work in this field is Physiolibrary (www.physiolibrary.org) – a free, open-source Modelica library for human physiology. By graphical joining instances of Physiolibrary classes, user can create models of cardiovascular circulation, thermoregulation, metabolic processes, nutrient distribution, gas transport, electrolyte regulation, water distribution, hormonal regulation and pharmacological regulation. After simple setting of the parameters, the models are ready to simulate. After simulation, the user can examine variables as their values change over time. Representing the model as a diagram has also great educational advantages, because students are able to better understand physical principles when they see them modeled graphically.

The position of the trunk can be negatively influenced by many diseases. Several methods can be used for identifying defects in balance and coordination as a result of pathology of the musculoskeletal or nervous system. The aim of this article is to examine the relationship between the three methods used for analysis of trunk sway and compare two fundamentally different MoCap systems. We used a camera system and a 3DOF orientation tracker placed on subject's trunk, and measured inclination (roll) and flexion (pitch) during quiet stance. Ten healthy participants in the study were measured with eyes open and closed. The pitch versus roll plots of trunk were formed, and the area of the convex hull, area of confidence ellipse and total length of the trajectory of the pitch versus roll plot were calculated. The statistical analysis was performed and strong correlation between the area of the convex hull and area of the confidence ellipse was found. Also, the results show moderate correlation between the area of the confidence ellipse and total length of the trace, and moderate correlation between the area of the convex hull and total length of the trace. In general, the different MoCap systems show different areas and lengths but lead to the same conclusions. Statistical analysis of the participants with eyes open and eye closed did not show significant difference in the areas and total lengths of the pitch versus roll plots.

Background: Mathematical modelling in medicine (physiology) takes place in research, clinical practice and learning. There are several suitable modelling languages and tools for physiological model implementation. Graphical simulators are created in order to make models used in teaching more illustrative. Objectives: It is important to make model developers' cooperation easier. For this reason it should be possible to interconnect models written in different languages. Elearning simulators must be well available for students and teachers. Necessity to install the application can be an obstruction. Methods for sharing models written in Modelica language should be enhanced. Methods: Standardised interface FMI allows interconnection of models written in different languages. E-learning models are developed on .NET platform. It enables them to run in web browser. The editor for models written in Modelica is being developed. It will run in browser and will be interconnected with web based model repository. Results: Simulation runtime, solver and simulation centre was implemented in .NET languages. They are used in web e-learning applications. They will be also used together with web-based model repository, that is being developed now. Conclusions: New tools will simplify model creation and interconnection. They will also improve collaboration of model developers.

ICF is the theoretical guideline of the modern rehabilitation of biopsychosocial model. This model is very important by innovation and by sophistic methodology of modern medicine. Early rehabilitation importantly improves the perspectives of individuals needing, help to reach the highest possible level of functioning. It is the matter of rational and ethical principal, which is also cost effective.
