The aim of this paper was to evaluate the cadmium concentrations in the muscles, liver, and kidney of three age categories (≤ 8 months; ≤ 2 years; ≥ 2 years) of cattle during the period of years 2014–2019 and to determine the age limit at which the concentration of cadmium in an organ with the highest accumulation increases health risk for consumers. In cattle above two years of age, there was a higher average cadmium concentration in the liver (0.10 mg/kg) and kidney (0.62 mg/kg), when compared with cadmium concentration in the liver (0.06 mg/kg) and kidney (0.24 mg/kg) of cattle under two years of age. A paired correlation coefficient r = 0.825 8 (P < 0.006) and Spearman’s coefficient ρ = 0.92 (P < 0.000 1) were calculated for the dependence of the cadmium concentration on the age. The correlation analysis statistically demonstrated a significant positive correlation between the concentration of cadmium in the kidney and the age of the cattle. A non-significant difference between the maximum limit and the average concentration of the cadmium in the kidney of the cattle from the age of 6 years (P = 0.029) was demonstrated using the t-test. The cadmium concentration in the muscles was low and was not significantly affected by the cattle’s age.
The aim of this paper is to review current knowledge of the significance of pork as a source of Se for human consumption, and to evaluate the selenium content in pork produced in the Czech Republic. Selenium has an important role in human health. Pork could possibly be an important source of Se for the human diet. The Se content in meat can be increased by a higher dietary intake of selenium in animal feed. The magnitude of this increase is higher when organic Se from Se-enriched yeast is ingested. Selenium intoxication in pigs occurs only when very high Se concentrations are used in their diet (more than 5 mg/kg of Se). Organic Se sources produce fewer clinical signs of high toxicity than inorganic sodium selenite. Organic Se does not have a negative effect on meat quality. Altogether, 135 pork samples from 9 different herds in the Czech Republic were collected and analyzed for Se content. The average selenium content found in pork in our study was 87.10 microg/kg. Because the average annual consumption of pork in the Czech Republic is 42.0 kg per person, the annual selenium intake from pork represents 18.2% of the minimum yearly requirement for humans. The results of our study show that pork contributes significantly to the selenium intake of the human population in the Czech Republic.

1. Cílem experimentální studie je ověřit možnost využití MSCs v léčbě poranění růstové ploténky jejich transplantací ve skafoldu na bázi interpenetrující polymerizující sítě v prostředí s kultivovanými allogenními chondrocyty. 2. Očekávaným efektem je reparace růstové ploténky ověřená histologicky, zabránění vzniku angulačních deformit a eliminace omezení růstu kosti do délky.; The aim of experimantal study is to verify a possibility of use of MSCs in treatment of growth plate lesion by its graft in scafold on the base of interpenetrating polymerizing net in surrounding with cultivated allogenic chondrocytes. Expected effect ishistologically verified growth plate reparation, inhibition of angular deformity inception and elimination of bone length growth limitation.
