Požadavky na lékaře a sestry neustále vzrůstají: musejí vyšetřit a navštívit více pacientů v kratším čase, vyplnit více formulářů a sledovat více pacientských dat. Nejnovější PDA nabízejí následující vlastnosti a funkce: barevný displej s vysokým rozlišením, možnost bezdrátového připojení, GSM, GPS, fotografování, záznam a přehrávání zvukového záznamu, vhodnou velikost.

This paper presents some aspects of the on-line remote fetal monitoring system based on the GPRS data transmission service and WAN network. Th e signal recording instrumentation consists of standard fetal monitor and PDA computer. Th e central surveillance system located in hospital has a capability of simultaneous monitoring of up to 24 patients, both remotely and within hospital. Th e system enables analysis, dynamic presentation and archiving of signals and medical data. Th e clinical interpretation is immediately available in hospital as well as at patient’s home or attending doctor offi ce.

Need of existence of soft ware platform, which will allow us to monitor the patients bio-parameters and provide us with services which help with full health care, is more than relevant these days. Increasing amount of information, a new trend in home health care or desire of individuals to increase their life quality are only some aspects which confi rm this need. Project Guardian concerns with this problem. Its aim is to provide solution which can be used in diff erent spheres of health care and which will be available through PDA, web or desktop clients. Because of that the Guardian platform is based on client-server model where the web service presents server and communicates directly with database. Clients are represented by applications which use services of web service. Applying of web services provide large extension of Guardian to diff erent spheres so Guardian is not limited only for existing clients which are indispensable part of platform, but allow us the implementation of the third parties clients.

This project deals with the problems of utilization of mobile equipment working in the biomedicine fi eld, particularly telemedicine. Th is fi eld is relatively new; it focuses on the observation of life functions from a distance. Practically developing system works with an ECG sensor connected to mobile equipment, such as PDA/Embedded device, based on Microsoft Windows CE class operating system. Th e whole system is based on the architecture of .NET Compact Framework, and other products, such as SQL Server by Microsoft too. Th is work also deals with the communication of mobile equipment with sensors and with the server via Bluetooth, WiFi, and GPRS/EDGE. Th e mobile equipments are used primarily for measuring and processing of data from the sensors and their visualization as a graph. Th e data is also given to the server for further processing and the analysis of current health of the patients, due to small effi ciency of the mobile equipment. Th e main task we deal with in the server part of application is receiving of the data via web services and further processing, management and analysis of this data. For the analysis of received data and further evaluation of the electrocardiogram, there is a self-organizing neural network [1].

Medical applications, with their need for a huge amount of well-arranged information, should be the subject of a continuous improvement and should stay in the forefront of the development of information science. Unfortunately, even in recent times, in the age of rapid and accelerating development in the areas of the internet and mobile applications, there is still a very dated approach for the information systems solution. Our suggested solution improves on the lacks inherent in the current information systems for general practitioners and additionally adds utility to the user in the areas of portability and mobility of IS systems. Security of all criteria needed for the manipulation with sensitive data is obvious…
