Podľa publikovaných údajov, i výsledkov štúdie pracientov hospitalizovaných na našom oddelení, ubúda počet traumatických amputácii na horných i dolných končatinách, amputácia na homej končatine cievneho pôvodu je raritou. Ale neubúda pacientov amputovaných na dolných končatinách s etiológiou ischemickej choroby, často v súvislosti s Diabetes mellitus. Tvoria 70-95 % amputovaných na dolných končatinách. Ischemická choroba je systémové postihnutie. Pri amputovaných na dolnej končatine s touto etiológiou, či pri AS obliterans alebo pri Diabetes mellitus, treba preto počítať s postihnutím druhostrannej končatiny, s postihnutím koronárnych ciev, ale i ciev mozgu. Kombinácia a gradácia jednotlivých symptómov modifikujú rehabilitačný proces amputovaných na dolných končatinách. Pre každého z nich je tento proces výlučne individuálny a jeho cieľom je fukčné protézovanie. Aby mohol byť amputovaný vybavený dobre fungujúcou protézou a tým dosiahnuť maximum úspechu v reedukácii chôdze a čo možno najvyšší stupeň psychosociálnej pohody, musí amputovaný prejsť všetkými etapami liečebnej rehabilitácie, musí spĺňať určité somatické, psychické predpoklady. K dfalším podmienkam úspešného funkčného protézovania patria určité sociálne a technické požiadavky.
According to published data and results of our observations of patients staying in our department, there is a decrease of upper and lower extremities amputations, amputat/on of upper extremities as a consequence of vessel etiology is rare. But there is no decrease of amputation number of lower extremities with etiology of ischewc disease, often with the connection of diabetes mellitus. They create 70-95% of amputation of lower extremities. Ischaemic disease is systemic affliction. In patients with amputations of LE with this etiology it must be therefore taken into account the affliction of the extremity on the opposite site, the coronary and brain vessels. The combination and gradation of individual symptoms modify rehabilitation process in patient with amputated tower extremities. This process is strictly individual for every patient and its aim is the „functional prosthesing". To have good functional prosthesis, the patients has to have the highest degree of psychosocial comfort and fulfil some somatic and psychic assumptions. Another conditions to successful functional prosthesing are some social and technic requirements.
