The authors present basic histological data on the nose mucosa and compare the morphology with function of the nose. The mains functions of the nose include air passage, its adjustment, protection against infection and smell perception.
Cílem sděleni je seznámit čtenáře se základními principy, na kterých je založena funkční magnetická rezonance. Práce shrnuje dosavadní poznatky, které tato nová metoda přinesla, a ukazuje možnosti, kterými se tato již dnes samostatná disciplina neuroradiologického oboru bude nejspíše V blízké budoucnosti zabývat. Článek klade důraz na praktické zaměření a pomoc, kterou může metoda přinést každodenní medicínské praxi. Práce rovněž shrnuje výsledky našeho více než ročního snažení na tomto poli. V závěru dává přehledný článek návod, jak je třeba postupovat, aby se bez většího prodlení rozšířila tato nová užitečná pomocná vyšetřovací metoda i na jiná pracoviště magnetické rezonance v naší republice.
The objective of this review is to make the reader familiar with basic principles and ideas of functional magnetic resonance imaging, a new discipline of neuroradiology. Findings from the history, present state of the art and ideas of future development are summarized. The authors demonstrate results of their own past as well as present work and stress the need to introduce this useful technique into the everyday routine. The possible practical use in future is outlined in the field of neurosurgery, neurology, psychiatry and as a research tool where it may prove helpful in solving problems concerning sleep disorders or generation and perception of speech Brief overview of needs and necessary background is given for those who wish to start their own activity in this fascinating field.
