Autoři referují o dvouletém dítěti, které si při hraní zalomilo konec tužky nad bulbem v orbitě. Vzhledem k povaze tělesa bylo toto chirurgicky extrahováno ve dvou fázích. Zranění se obešlo bez následků vzhledem k funkcím oka.
Huge Foreign Body in the Orbit The authors present an account on a two-year-old child which while playing pushed the broken end of a pencil into the orbit above the bulbus. With regard to the nature of the object it was extracted by two-stage surgery. The injury did not affect the child´s ocular functions.

V práci sa hodnotia 9-ročné skúsenosti s diagnostikou a liečbou embryonálneho rhabdomyosarkómu orbity u detí. Podrobne je hodnotený súbor 5 detí liečený a sledovaný 1 - 9 rokov. Vďaka využitiu komplexnej chirurgickej, radiačnej a chemoterapeutickej liečby prežívajú všetci pacienti, z ktorých má 80 % zachovalé zrakové funkcie. Pre diferenciálnodiagnostické problémy pri variabilnej manifestácii rhabdomyosarkómu, ktorý môže imitovať orbitocellulitídu, chalazeon, epibulbarny lipodermoid alebo papilóm, je kladený vefký dôraz na primárnu rýchlu diagnostiku prostredníctvom NMR a biopsie. V liečbe je vysoko hodnotená kombinácia rádioterapie a chemoterapie, ktorá predstavuje moderný trend a dokáže vyliečiť tumor i bez radiálneho chirurgického výkonu.
The authors evaluated 9 years' experience with the diagnosis and treatment of embryonic rhabdomyosarcoma of the orbit in children. They evaluated in detail a group of 5 children treated and followed up for 1 - 9 years. Due to comprehensive surgical, radiation and chemotherapeutic treatment all patients survive and in 80 % the visual function is preserved. For differential diagnostic problems, with regard to the variable manifestation of rhabdomyosarcoma which may imitate orbitocellulitis, chalaseon, epibulbar lipodermoid or papilloma, the authors emphasize the importance of rapid primary diagnosis by NMR and biopsy. In the treatment they appreciate greatly a combination of radiotherapy and chemotherapy which is a modern trend and can erradicate the tumour without radical surgery.
Byl popsán nehodgkinský maligní lymfom velkobuněčný B bohatý na T lymfocyty u pacientky s ložisky v levém prsu a v pravé orbitě, dále se suspektními kožními ložisky a zvětšenými uzlinami v mediastinu dle počítačové tomografie. Diferenciálně diagnosticky jsme podle průběhu onemocnění mimo maligního lymfomu uvažovali i o orbitocelulitidě či pseudotumoru orbity. Zvláštností je, že se pacientka již léčila pro mnohočetný myelom. Důraz je kladen na komplexní léčbu pacientky s nutností konziliárních vyšetření medicínských oborů s tímto onemocněním spjatých. Po radioterapii došlo u pacientky k totální regresi orbitálního nálezu.
The authors describe a non-Hodgkin malignant large-cellBlymphomawith ample lymphocytes in a female patient with foci in the left breast and right orbit, with suspect skin foci and enlarged nodes in the mediastinum as revealed by computed tomography. In the differential diagnosis the authors reflected according to the course of the disease in addition to malignant lymphoma also on orbitocellulitis or a pseudotumourof the orbit.Theremarkable feature is thatthepatienthadalreadytreatment on account of a multiple myeloma. The authors emphasize comprehensive treatment of the patient and the necessity of consultations with specialist of other medical disciplines associated with this disease. After radiotherapy total regression of the orbital finding occurred in the patient.

Prezentujeme případ pacienta, který byl přijat na naše oddělení pro prknovitý otok levého dolního víčka. CT vyšetření orbity prokázalo podezření na tumo-rózní afekci za bulbem. Celkový stav pacienta nebyl alterován. Biopsie a následné histologické vyšetření potvrdily diagnózu zánětlivého pseudotumoru očnice. Pacient byl přeléčen celkově kortikosteroidy a stav se normalizoval.
The authors present a patient who was hospitalized in their department due to indurative edema of the left lower eyelid. Computed tomography (CT) of the orbit confirmed the suspicion of tumor affection behind the globe. The generál condition of the patient was not altered. Biopsy and foliowing histological exa-mination confirmed the diagnosis of inflammatory pseudotumor of the orbit. The patient was treated systemically with corticosteroids and the condition normalized.
