Anticholinergika jsou látky, které jsou v medicíně široce používány. V urologii jsou lékem první volby v terapii hyperaktivního měchýře. Jejich vysoká účinnost byla prověřena v mnoha klinických studiích. Hlavní nevýhodou této léčby je relativně častý výskyt vedlejších antimuskarinových účinků. Autoři se ve svém článku zaměřují především na mechanizmus vzniku těchto obtěžujících projevů.
Anticholinergic agents are widely used in medicine. In urology, they are the first-choice drugs in the treatment of overactive bladder. Their high efficacy has been proved in many clinical trials. The main drawback of this treatment is the relatively frequent occurrence of antimuscarinic side effects. The article mainly deals with the mechanism of origin of these annoying symptoms.

Erektilní dysfunkce (ED) postihuje 54 % českých mužů ve věku nad 35 let. Definujeme ji jako neschopnost dosáhnout a udržet ztopoření dostatečné k realizaci uspokojivého sexuálního styku. ED je často prvním příznakem závažných chorob, nejčastěji kardiovaskulárních. Moderní léčba ED představuje podávání inhibitorů PD E5, tato léčba je bezpečná a účinná i u rizikových nemocných. Druhou linii léčby představují intrakavernózní injekce prostaglandinu E 1. Léčba erektilní dysfunkce zlepšuje párovou satisfakci a kvalitu života postiženého muže.
Czech men (aprox. 54 %) suffer from erectile dysfunction (ED). Erectile dysfunction is defined as an inability to achieve and maintain an erection sufficient for satisfactory sexual intercourse. Erectile dysfunction is the first symptom of seriouse diseases, especially cardio vascular ones. Modern oral therapy by PDE 5 inhibitors is safe, effective and well tolerated. The second line therapy is based on intracavernous injections of prostaglandin E 1. ED therapy leeds to achievement partner’s satisfaction and quality of life of inable man.
