K výpočtu výše zmíněných měr výskytu onemocnění můžeme použň statistici^ software. Ten však vždy nebývá nejvhodnější pro analýzu dat z epidemiologických studií V EuroMlSE Centru Univerzity Karlovy a Ákadenúe věd České republiky byl s podporou projektu Copernicus JRP-10053 vyvinut program E.T. (Epidemiology Tools) . Tento program je vhodný pro praktickou analýzu dat z retrospektivních či prospektivních studií Slouží také pro porovnávám'úmrtnosti a nemocnosti populací (metoda standardizace). Úplatném'nachází i při výuce epidemiologie.
In epidemiological research the calculation of appropriate measures of disease frequency is the basis for a comparison of populations and, herefore, the identification of disease determinants. Two frequencies being compared can be combined into a single summary parameter that estimates the associctiion between an exposure and a disease. This ľort fee accomplished by calculation either the ratio of the measures of disease frequency for two populations which incäcates how much likely one population is to develop a disease than another, or the difference between the frequencies which indicates how much greater the frequency of a cäsease is in one population compared with the other. In epidemiology we often need to compute measures of disease f requency mentioned above. We can do that by means of complex statistical software, but sometimes it is not easy or possible to use these software for an analysis of epidemiological data. At the EuroMISE Zenter of Charies University and Academy of Sciences in frame of the research supported from grant COPERNICUS JRP-10053 the E.T. program (Epidenúology took) was developed This program can be uedfor practical analysis of data from retrospective (case-control) studies or prospective (cohort) stiidies and for the standardization. However, the program can be also useful teaching tod in the epidemiology courses.
