The phenomenon of treatment and social rehabilitation of people with addiction is inherently based on the cooperation and collaboration of many disciplines. These are mainly: psychiatry, addictionology, special pedagogy, andragogy, psychology and social work. The knowledge and experience of experts from the above mentioned fields and from the described institutions in the context of cooperation with information technology experts is reflected in the main result of the product discussed in the article. This is the software: a web application for mobile phones and other devices. The Five Ways to Wellbeing method is a powerful tool for promoting mental health and wellbeing that has been developed by the UK NHS. This method focuses on five key areas that can help maintain good mental health and prevent relapse. These are 1. keeping in touch with other people, 2. regular exercise, 3. maintaining mindfulness, 4. learning new things, and 5. altruism. This article presents part of the results of an evaluation study conducted within the framework of the TAČR project ÉTA: Application for the development of social competences of people with addiction in the context of indications for special education and therapeutic intervention, reg. no.: TL05000482. The project is guaranteed by Palacký University in Olomouc. The research was conducted at P-Centrum z.s., non-profit organization focused on addictology services, which is the application guaranty of the project. The aim of the paper is to present how the research implemented the Five Ways to Wellbeing methods into a web-based application for E-health. The methodological design of the study is based on qualitative research, specifically an evaluation study. The results suggest that the Five ways to wellbeing method is suitable for implementation in this web-based application and offers further potential in addiction treatment and relapse prevention.

Objective: The aim of this paper is to study the inclusion of Informatics and Health Informatics subjects in the health sciences departments' curricula of higher education in Greece. Its main purpose is to determine the level of health informatics knowledge, dexterities and skills that these departments provide for their graduates. Method: Informatics and Health Informatics subjects were recorded from the departments' curricula available on their official Web sites. Afterwards, these subjects were categorised based on the description of the objectives, the content and the syllabus of each department and on the Goals of Informatics Education identified by the American Medical Informatics Association. Results: Our research indicated that most of the subjects mainly focus on introductory concepts and applications rather than on advanced issues of informatics, resulting, mostly, in producing Information Technology users rather than Health/Medical Informatics specialists. Conclusion: The study presented in this paper points out the imperative need of health educational programs of higher education in Greece to adjust their curricula to the current educational requirements in order to provide their graduates with the necessary knowledge in health information technologies.

BACKGROUND: Users with experience of eating disorders use the internet as a source of information, whether for prorecovery activities (such as web-based treatment, looking for information, support, and sharing) or activities that promote eating disorder behavior as a desirable lifestyle choice (such as pro-eating disorder communities and reading and creating pro-eating disorder posts). Their assessment of web-based eating disorder-related information is crucial for understanding the context of the illness and for health professionals and their web-based interventions. OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to understand the criteria young women with the experience of eating disorders use in evaluating eating disorder-related web-based information and what eating disorder-related characteristics of these women are involved in their evaluation. METHODS: We analyzed 30 semistructured individual interviews with Czech women aged 16 to 28 years with past or present eating disorder experience using a qualitative approach. Thematic analysis was adopted as an analytical tool. RESULTS: The specifics of eating disorder phases (the disorder stage and the treatment process) emerged as important aspects in the process of information assessment. Other specific characteristics of respondents (eg, motivation, abilities, and resources) addressed how the respondents arrived at certain web-based information and how they evaluated it. In addition, the respondents described some content cues as features of information (eg, novelty and social information pooling). Another finding is that other users' attitudes, experiences, activities, and personal features are involved in the information evaluation of these users and the information presented by them. Finally, the respondents evaluated the websites' visual look and graphic components. CONCLUSIONS: This study shows that web-based information evaluation reported by women with experience of eating disorders is a complex process. The assessment is influenced by current personal characteristics related to the illness (mainly the motivation for maintaining or curing the eating disorder) using cues associated with information content, other users, and website look. The study findings have important implications for health professionals, who should ask their clients questions about web-based communities and their needs to understand what information and sources they choose.

Background: The beginning of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) epidemic dates back to December 31, 2019, when the first cases were reported in the People's Republic of China. In the Czech Republic, the first three cases of infection with the novel coronavirus were confirmed on March 1, 2020. The joint effort of state authorities and researchers gave rise to a unique team, which combines methodical knowledge of real-world processes with the know-how needed for effective processing, analysis, and online visualization of data. Objective: Due to an urgent need for a tool that presents important reports based on valid data sources, a team of government experts and researchers focused on the design and development of a web app intended to provide a regularly updated overview of COVID-19 epidemiology in the Czech Republic to the general population. Methods: The cross-industry standard process for data mining model was chosen for the complex solution of analytical processing and visualization of data that provides validated information on the COVID-19 epidemic across the Czech Republic. Great emphasis was put on the understanding and a correct implementation of all six steps (business understanding, data understanding, data preparation, modelling, evaluation, and deployment) needed in the process, including the infrastructure of a nationwide information system; the methodological setting of communication channels between all involved stakeholders; and data collection, processing, analysis, validation, and visualization. Results: The web-based overview of the current spread of COVID-19 in the Czech Republic has been developed as an online platform providing a set of outputs in the form of tables, graphs, and maps intended for the general public. On March 12, 2020, the first version of the web portal, containing fourteen overviews divided into five topical sections, was released. The web portal's primary objective is to publish a well-arranged visualization and clear explanation of basic information consisting of the overall numbers of performed tests, confirmed cases of COVID-19, COVID-19-related deaths, the daily and cumulative overviews of people with a positive COVID-19 case, performed tests, location and country of infection of people with a positive COVID-19 case, hospitalizations of patients with COVID-19, and distribution of personal protective equipment. Conclusions: The online interactive overview of the current spread of COVID-19 in the Czech Republic was launched on March 11, 2020, and has immediately become the primary communication channel employed by the health care sector to present the current situation regarding the COVID-19 epidemic. This complex reporting of the COVID-19 epidemic in the Czech Republic also shows an effective way to interconnect knowledge held by various specialists, such as regional and national methodology experts (who report positive cases of the disease on a daily basis), with knowledge held by developers of central registries, analysts, developers of web apps, and leaders in the health care sector.

Metody a výsledky. V rámci terénní praxe provedli studenti Univerzity Karlovy, 1. lékařské fakulty interview s 273 matkami dětí do 5 let, řízený rozhovor s 19 dětskými praktickými lékaři, nasbírali 42 propagačních materiálů, identifikovali a vyhodnotili 16 relevantních publikací a 14 webových stránek. K harmonizaci informací o výživě starších kojenců batolat s doporučeními WHO by přispělo věnovat pozornost všem 10 okruhům vedoucích principů WHO, formulovat jasně doporučení o kojení, rozlišovat informace podle cílové populace a vycházet ze situace prospívajícího dítěte výlučně kojeného do ukončeného 6. měsíce.
Background. During the last 15 years much effort with remarkable success has been devoted to the promotion and support of breast-feeding. Much less attention has been paid, until recently, to child nutrition during the period of transition from exclusively milk feeding to the family diet. The aim of presented study is to provide a qualitative review of information on feeding of children 6 – 24 months old available to parents from various sources and to compare it with the WHO recommendations based on the Global Strategy for Infant and Young Child Feeding. Methods and Results. Within the frame of field practice, students of the Charles University, 1st Medical Faculty conducted interviews with 273 mothers of children under 5 years old, focused interview with 19 paediatric general practitioners, gathered 42 promotion materials, identified and evaluated 16 relevant publications and 14 web sites. All practitioners interviewed provided information on the nutrition, recommend exclusive breast-feeding up to the age of 6 months and the appropriate introduction of complementary food but they probably did not promote sufficiently breast- -feeding beyond six months. Review of various information sources revealed, as expected, certain variations in feeding recommendations, which is partially a consequence of their changes during the last decade. Most publications emphasise breast-feeding as the ideal nutrition for up to 6 months. Recommendations for breast-feeding beyond 6 months are inadequate. Complementary feeding recommendations are, with exceptions, common for breast-fed and non-breastfed children as well as for those who need to start complementary feeding before 6 months of age. Except for sporadic notes, publications do not deal with the safe food preparation and feeding during and after a common disease. Conclusions. Consideration to all 10 areas of WHO guiding principles should be given. Also the clear formulation of breastfeeding recommendations, differentiation of information according to the target population, and recommendations based on the conditions of a thriving infant exclusively breast-fed for 6 months would contribute to the harmonization of information on the older infant and toddler nutrition with WHO recommendations.

Background: In the range of Semantic Web, the idea of linking and sharing the resources generated by different authors, like ontologies, knowledge bases, or datasets, is referred to “Linked data”. Then, an ambitious project within the “Linked Data” paradigm is the “Linking Open Data” community project. It aims at publishing open data sets on the Web and semantically connecting data items belonging to different data sources. Objectives: The purpose of this paper is to present a literature review on the subject of Linked Open Data in Health and Clinical Care. In fact, the availability of open data would increase evidence of the results of biomedical research, and consequently, of clinical practice. Methods: Selection criteria have been defined and searching in PubMed/Medline and Scopus citation databases - for all years the database were available - journals papers have been retrieved. Finally, an evaluation grid has been defined for analysing the retrieved papers, to answer some defined research questions. Results: Nine journal articles have been analysed according to the defined evaluation grid. In five out of nine papers, the main contributions are strategies and methodologies for the integration of systems, including bridging the information gap among forms for clinical research and the one for patient care. Then, in three papers the main contributions are the development of consistent triple stores according to the “Linked Data” paradigm. Finally, the last paper aims at building an open dataset for public health purposes. Conclusions: The review was able to answer the research questions, despite the limited number of included papers.
