The objective of the work was an open non-comparative evaluation of the dressing „Comfeel Ulcer Dressing** in the third clinical stage of treatment of leg ulcers. In a group of 20 patients, aged 34 to 80 years, 16 ulcers of venous and 8 ulcers of mixed origin were treated. Treatment lasted 3 months or up to the time when the ulcer was healed. Eighteen patients completed the trial. In 32 % of the ulcers complete healing was recorded. In 59 % the area of the ulcer was reduced to 43.5 % of the original area. In 9 % the ulcers increased in size. In total the mean area of all ulcers decreased to 40.8 % of the original size during the follow up period. Manipulation with the dressing was easy and quick, redressing was done once to twice a week. During the trial no undesirable side-effects of the dressing were observed, all patients were satisfied with treatment and reported marked mitigation or disappearance of pain. Hydrocolloid dressing „Comfeel Ulcer Dressing´´ extends the range of available occlusive dressings for treatment of leg ulcers. Their use leads to improvement of quality of the patients life.
