Despite the extensive knowledge about the effects of chronic stress on cognition, the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. We conducted a cross-sectional moderation analysis on a population-based sample of 596 adults to examine the age- and sex-specific role of emotion regulation (ER) in the relationship between chronic stress and cognitive performance using validated self-report questionnaires. While women showed no direct or moderated relationship between stress and cognition, men displayed a distinct age-related pattern where stress was negatively associated with poorer cognitive performance at older ages, and the onset of this relationship was detected earlier in men with ER problems. These results showed that suppression of emotions and lack of executive control of ER amplify the negative consequences of chronic stress and suggest that there are sex-specific differences in the decline of ability to cope with long-term exposure to stressors.

Background: In Greek scientific literature, no other studies using emotional intelligence as a personal trait were found. Objective: The aim of this study was to explore the validity and reliability of the Trait Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire - Short Form in a Greek educational context. The internal consistency as well as the levels of emotional intelligence, along with the gender as a factor that differentiates emotional intelligence have also been examined. Methods: The sample of the study consisted of 306 (for exploratory factor analysis) and 415 (for confirmatory factor analysis) students who attended the 7th, 8th, and 9th grades of high school. The selection of the sample was randomly performed. The scale consists of 30 questions and four factors. The statistical analysis of the data included descriptive statistics, exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, reliability analysis using Cronbach's α and discriminant/convergent validity, and t-test for independent samples. Results: The results of the confirmatory factor analysis demonstrated that the hypothesized model produced a significant χ2 (1026.58), normed fit index (.96) and comparative fit index (.97). The root mean square error of approximation (.78) was also considered to assess the degree extent to which the model of fit of. Composite reliability (≥ .948) and average variance extracted (≥ .751) of all dimensions of the Trait Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire - Short Form demonstrated an acceptable reliability coefficient. Conclusions: From the analysis of the results, we came to the following conclusions. The Trait Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire - Short Form constitutes an instrument credible enough to measure the emotional intelligence of high school male and female students. Gender is a differentiation factor for Total emotional intelligence, Self-control, and Well-being factors.

Currently, India is among the countries with the largest youth population with 65% of the people aged below 35 years. These youths engage themselves in a multitude of things which generation-x was not aware. Their daily routine, study habits, entertainment, computer knowledge, and financial affairs are different from that of earlier generations. There is a need to study their financial situation and saving habit as their approach towards enjoyment, recreation, and lifestyle are influenced by factors like social media and popular culture. This study aims to find the mediation effect of financial literacy and self-control on the relationship between social influence and saving behaviour of undergraduate (UG) students, who are freelancing while pursuing their studies. The study obtained 357 responses to questionnaires through purposive sampling method. The study adopted causal mediation research design and employed mediation analysis to find the direct, indirect, and total effects of the relationship between social influence and saving behaviour among freelancing UG students. The results of the study revealed a partial mediation effect, indicating that the social influence not only had a direct impact on the saving behaviour of UG students in India, but also mediated it through financial literacy and self-control. Further research could focus on understanding students' knowledge of digital-financial management, as digitisation of the financial sector is rapidly expanding.

Duckworth and Seligman's seminal work found that self-discipline (self-control) was more salient for academic achievement than intelligence. Very little replication work exists, including in different cultures; the current study addressed these gaps. Data were collected from 6th and 7th grade cohorts of early adolescents (N = 589; age: Mean = 12.34 years, and SD = 0.89; 58% female) over two years. The study tested whether self-control was a stronger predictor than intelligence in explaining academic performance two years later as well as in explaining developmental changes over the course of two years. Path analyses provided evidence that both self-control and intelligence longitudinally predicted teacher-reported academic competence as well as school-reported grades; however, intelligence was a significantly stronger predictor than self-control. In addition, only intelligence predicted developmental changes in each measure of academic performance over time, self-control did not.

Hlavným cieľom nášho kvalitatívneho výskumu bolo zmapovať emočné prežívanie ukrajinských študentov na Slovensku počas vojny a identifikovať ich stratégie zvládania emócií. Výskumný súbor tvorilo 6 participantov, z toho 2 boli muži a 4 ženy s priemerným vekom 20 rokov. Nápomocnými stratégiami boli odpútanie pozornosti a vyhľadávanie sociálnej podpory. Voči ruským študentom neprežívajú negatívne emócie, ich vzťahy sa ešte viac prehĺbili a prežívajú reciprocitu
The main goal of this qualitative research was to understand emotions of ukrainian students in Slovakia during Russian invasion and identify strategies of coping with their emotions. The research group consisted of 6 respondents, of which were 2 men and 4 women of average age 20. We used individual semi-structured interviews to obtain the data. The bunching method was used for data analysis. The results of the research showed that huge palette of their negative emotions started to gradually soften. Helpful strategies such as attentional deployment and searching for social support were found to be the most important for ukrainian students. Regarding their relationships, ukrainian students don't feel negative emotions towards russian students, their relationships have been deepened.

The Emotion Regulation Skills Questionnaire (ERSQ, 27 items) is an instrument designed to measure nine emotion regulation skills. This study examined the psychometric properties and longitudinal network structure of the Czech translation of the ERSQ in the clinical sample (primarily mood or neurotic disorders). Czech patients N = 427 completed the ERSQ weekly during treatment. The data were analyzed using confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and network modeling. The CFA supported an eight-dimensional factor solution (with merged Acceptance and Tolerance subscales). The subscales' internal consistency ranged from ωh = .669 (Bodily sensations) to ωh = .859 (Acceptance/Tolerance). The factor structure was invariant across genders, two age groups, and seven measurement waves (invariance tested as an assumption for network analysis). The longitudinal network model indicated the existence of perceptive and modulatory clusters of emotional regulation skills and revealed the central role of Modification, Bodily sensations, and Readiness for confrontation in emotional regulation. The Czech translation of the ERSQ is a psychometrically sound instrument comparable to the original version. Despite the high internal consistency of the total score (ωtot = .910), the ERSQ is not recommended for use as a unidimensional instrument.
