The paper deals with the comparison of the impact of the use of athletes and bloggers in marketing communication on purchasing preferences of individuals which belong to the so-called Generation Z. There are two interdependent methods used for the research. The first of these methods is a questionnaire survey, which includes 508 respondents. 32 respondents separated in two groups attended the second method, which is a focus group. The research results show that athletes influence the behavioral intentions of members of the Generation Z more than bloggers in every researched sphere. The main difference in effectivity is clear from the comparison between both groups by respondents.

Gluten free products are essential for people who suffer from coeliac disease or have a more generic gluten intolerance. In both instances people are forced to resort to consuming gluten free (GF) foods. We carried out two online surveys to gauge the sentiments from people purchasing GF produce, and we carried out two retail observation studies. These studies were carried out in 2015 and repeated again 2019. Bread was the most commonly purchased GF product, but also the most complained about GF product, both from a quality and a price point of view. These sentiments did not change much from 2015 to 2019. One clear set of trends was that people purchased less specialty flour and raising agent when comparing 2019 to 2015, and they did less home-baking over the same period. Furthermore, the decrease in home-baking coincided with a relative increase in satisfaction in the quality of GF products. With regards to observations made across 11 supermarkets, we observed an overall increase in the number of GF line items, with the budget supermarkets offering a very small selection of produce labelled as GF in 2019 only. Our research shows that the relative cost of GF items increased from 2015 to 2019, with the average price ratio of GF food to non-GF foods rising from 3.2 to 4.1 across all UK supermarkets. Ultimately, GF produce cost significantly more compared to similar, gluten-containing foods, while many of the GF products, especially GF breads, still underperform when it comes to the perceived quality and value for money.

The market need for good quality gluten-free (GF) bakery products is in focus, due the increasing number of people with Celiac Disease (CD), Non-Celiac Gluten Sensitivity (NCGS) and the growing popularity of following GF diet as a trend. However scientific knowledge of the technically challenging GF bread making is growing, data regarding consumer market needs, opinions, trends and issues are insufficient. The present study was aimed to evaluate the consumer’s acceptance of available GF breads and their satisfaction. The data of the study reveal that approximately half of the people following GF diet have other different food related health problems parallel with CD or NCGS. The present study shows, that 70.8% of the asked consumers are dissatisfied with GF breads due their texture and taste, and for home baking consumers usually mix 2-3 or even more different GF flours, as they are displeased with the quality of the available mixes on their own. Overall, the most relevant problem for the consumers is the particularly higher price of the GF flours and breads.

BACKGROUND: The variables affecting participants' satisfaction with a scientific conference in dermatology have not been systematically assessed. The European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV) has collected a huge number of questionnaires related to sessions' and speakers' evaluation over the years. The critical analysis of satisfaction's score is important and helpful for continuous improvement of the scientific programming. OBJECTIVE: To identify factors that positively or negatively affect sessions' and speakers' scoring in the largest European congress of dermatology. METHODS: This was a retrospective analysis of all sessions' evaluation forms collected between 2009 and 2015 during seven consecutive EADV congresses. A predictive model for sessions' and another for speakers' score evaluation were built based on multivariate linear regression. RESULTS: Overall, 4964 speakers and 1022 sessions were evaluated. Topics more positively associated with total sessions' scoring were as follows: dermoscopy, neutrophilic diseases and hidradenitis suppurativa. Conversely, types of sessions which considerably negatively associated with total sessions' scoring included short thematic presentations and free communications. Furthermore, types of sessions which were more positively associated with high total speakers' scoring consisted of focus sessions and plenary lectures, whereas the most appreciated topics encompassed dermoscopy, screening programs, melanocytic naevi, panniculitis, organ transplanted and immunosuppressed patients, neutrophilic diseases, dermatopathology and history of dermatology. Finally, short thematic presentations, free communications and guidelines session showed overall poor scores. CONCLUSION: Focused and specialized topics are more prone to capture attention of participants when compared to sessions of heterogeneous content. Quite surprisingly, a practice-oriented topics such as guidelines, did not achieve a high score. Our findings provide new knowledge about components, which increase the level of satisfaction of participants and should facilitate the programming of attractive scientific congresses associated with increased training satisfaction.

Cílem předložené práce bylo zhodnotit současný stav v produkci a spotřebě masa lovné zvěře.
The present study aims to describe the current situation in venison production and consumption in the Czech Republic. The differences in meat composition and quality between venison from wild and from farmed animals are also mentioned. Two-hundred and three Czech consumers participated in the study and completed a questionnaire in 2017. From the results it is evident, that wild boar is the most popular kind of venison followed by roe deer, hare and red deer. The results also show a higher frequency of venison consumption in men compared to women.
Na spotřebu potravin má vliv řada ekonomických faktorů. Sledovali a analyzovali jsme vývoj cen potravin, cen spojených s bydlením, vývoj příjmů a vývoj spotřeby.
Food consumption is influenced by many economic factors. We monitored and analyzed developments in food prices, the prices of housing, development of incomes and consumption trends. On the level of consumer prices have a significant influence trade margins. We examined whether and how differ margins for Czech food products and imported products. Over the reporting period (2000 - 2015) grew most income and housing prices. Food prices overall have increased considerably milder. Food consumption was increased overall, increased consumption of plant and animal foods. The change in prices affects significantly the consumption of animal foods, especially meat. For cereal does not affect the price of their consumption significantly. The margins of the Czech products and imported products over the period converging. Margins at domestic products increased, while imported products were flat. Retail is trying to bring the margin at the Czech and imported products together so that the final price is reasonable for demand.
