The main aim of the study focused on journals research was to find out what field tests are mostoften used to determine fitness of handball players and what is the trend in using these fitness testsin handball research. Specialized publications and articles were analyzed and searched in the scientificdatabases "Web of science", "Scopus", "EBSCO" and analyzed Czech professional journals, which arein the database "ERIH Plus". The articles were searched in the time range 2009 - 2019. Articles in theCzech literature were analyzed from the journal, which are in the ERIH Plus database. Unfortunately, only one available study dealt with this issue. After analyzing foreign articles, eliminating duplicationof articles, abstracts, and articles unsuitable for our needs, 30 foreign studies (fulltext) related to thetopic of the study were selected for our needs. From the results of the submitted study we recommendto use in practice and research in handball run at 20 and 30 m (possibly with continuous measuringstations at 10 and 15 m), modified T - test, throw at the gate from the ground (7 m) steps and longjump if no SJ, CMJ measuring devices are available, but these are more appropriate tests.

Vyhledávány byly práce z let 2017–2022 v českém a anglickém jazyce. Do přehledu byly zařazeny pouze metaanalýzy a randomizované kontrolované studie (RCT).
The aim of the review article was to analyze studies dealing with the implementation of nutritional intervention with vitamin D content and nutritional intervention including vitamin D in combination with resistance exercise. All these interventions are being investigated in patients with and without sarcopenia. PubMed, CINAHL and MEDLINE databases were used to search for studies. Studies from 2017–2022, in Czech and English, were searched for. All studies had to be freely accessible in fulltext and had to focus on patients older than 65 years. Only meta-analyses and randomized controlled trials (RCTs) were included in the review. A total of 5 RCTs were included in the review. These can be thematically divided into studies devoted to nutritional intervention (1) and studies devoted to nutritional intervention in combination with resistance exercise (4), where the results were most reliable. It can be concluded that the administration of nutritional intervention enriched with vitamin D, with is combined with resistance exercise, can improve vitamin D values, muscle strength and physical fitness in seniors over 65 years of age.

National Medical Library (NML) operates MEDVIK system, a centralized library management system for medical libraries in Czech Republic. MEDVIK system environment with its strong technological infrastructure and WWW portal (www.medvik.cz) have created extensive opportunities to innovate NML provided information services. This paper describes key issues that have been implemented or NML has been working on. MEDVIK shared database serves either as the union catalogue of periodicals (UCP). The flexible database structures have been modified to enable new model of collaboration with participating libraries - online update of UCP holdings data via MEDVIK Portal sub-module. This effort led to important data consolidation which now allows precise searching for titles or owner library by available years. NML plan to implement new e-resources management system in first quarter 2008, which is intended to interoperate with MEDVIK as closely as possible to serve our users with accurate availability information and access to both traditional and electronic resources. ERM system interface will be incorporated into MEDVIK Portal. NML produces Czech National Medical Bibliography (BMC), a bibliographic database of Czech medical literature. Current production has been already processed in MEDVIK system and there are several backfiles that will be converted by the end of this year. Total number of BMC records approximates 500 thousands and there will be more older records added retrospectively back to 1946. BMC records have been indexed with MeSH descriptors. Abstracts and links to fulltext have been added where available. BMC will be made accessible through MEDVIK Portal. Recently, efforts have been made to promote cooperation with Czech journal publishers to find ways how to provide persistent linking, fulltext archiving and possibly to automate basic metadata input into BMC database. NML is going to conduct a review of available digital archiving tools and to implement a digital repository. The intention is that the repository shall serve as Czech health information archive for published documents and non-published materials as well. NML plan to gradually digitize older endangered journal volumes to be stored in the repository. NML believes that MEDVIK Portal providing access to BMC linked with consistent union catalogue holdings and ERM, backed up with the digital repository of journal articles and other important content shall become the unique discovery resource for all interested medical information users.
Rotigotine is a nonergolinic dopamine D 3 /D 2 /D 1 receptor agonist delivered via a transdermal system. Patients with early Parkinson's disease receiving rotigotine monotherapy experienced significantly greater improvements in parkinsonian symptoms compared to placebo in two large double blind clinical trials. Significant beneficial effects of 30 and 40 cm 2 rotigotine patches (6 and 8 mg of the active ingredient/24 hours, respectively) versus placebo were observed in both trials. Patients with advanced Parkinson's disease receiving rotigotine as adjunctive therapy with levodopa in two clinical trials showed a significant reduction in off time compared to the placebo group. Rotigotine was generally well tolerated in clinical trials as both monotherapy and when administered with levodopa. Adverse events were generally mild or moderate in severity.

Objectives: The aim of this paper was to empirically verify the existence of relation between empathy and contagious yawning (i. e. yawning elicited by watching or thinking about yawning). Sample and settings: The research sample consists of 59 undergraduates. Contagious yawning, secretly recorded by the researcher, was elicited by watching a video stimulus. Empathy was then measured by Reading the Mind in the Eyes Test (RME) and Interpersonal Reactivity Index (IRI). Hypotheses: On the basis of previous research, empathy is identified as a characteristic that can potentially affect contagious yawning. Statistical analysis: Output data were statistically analysed using multilinear regression model. Results: Empathy did not prove to significantly predict the frequency of contagious yawning. Authors present further personal dispositions that can be connected to contagious yawning. However, the social function of yawning is questioned. Study limitation: Lower number of participants and positively skewed data distribution can limit the interpretation of results presented. (Fulltext in Czech)
Introduction: Today, support for caregivers through communication and information technology is increasingly being used. Virtual environments can to some extent satisfy the need for support and allow for an empathetic perception of the situation, which reduces the caregiver’s burden. This review presents the findings of research studies, over a period of 4 years (2018–2021), that have looked at the use of virtual reality to alleviate the burden of informal caregivers. Methods: By formulating a clinical question using the PICO method, keywords were identified, and search resources were retrieved from the fulltext electronic databases Cinahl, ProQuest Central, and PubMed Central. Results: Nine relevant research studies were included in the final review. Five studies focused on investigating the impact of virtual reality on informal caregivers of persons with dementia, and the other research focus was on caregivers of persons with psychiatric illness, the elderly with chronic illness, or those in the terminal stage of illness. Programs using virtual reality were included as research interventions. These were created in the locality, taking into account the cultural specificities of the participants. Conclusions: Support for informal caregivers is generally perceived as inadequate. Virtual reality and simulation are areas that have great potential to support health and social care provision.
